Skosh is brilliant
Not cheap by York standards mind
I thought £75 with a decent bottle of wine for 2 people was canny actually.

Anyone been to the Spark? Heading down to York in a few weeks and few people have mentioned going there for some bait.
Tried Cut and Craft on Tuesday night. Food was really good and not bad value either for the flat iron steak. However one thing gets right on my tits. It's got a few decent street food type places and a few different bars, definitely worth a visit.
For the OP, The Rook & Gaskill on the corner of Lawrence Street near the bar walls, at the bottom of Walmgate, does great burgers and pizzas and a good selection of ales too.
Went to the Cut and Craft last week, do some good food. The £10 flat iron steak is excellent value.
Another vote for the Yak and Yeti too.

Cheers. Tbf it’s like that all over. Wait till you are chewing and ask how the food is. Did you do a boat ride or anything? We are not drinking atm so looking for stuff to do. Gonna do a bus and boat tour and have a spa day booked.Kings Square, next to Browns. As long as you dont mind having "guys, guys guys" you will be fine
Deffo giving ambiente a go. I need a replacement for skosh now though.Judges for Sunday dinner - top notch.
Everest for a Nepalese - class. Make sure to order the salt n pepper chips as a side - as a rule I wouldn't normally order chips, but these are tremendous. Ghurka beer also has a class picture of Super Kev on the bottle...

Ambiente Tapas on Fossgate - lush. They've another premises on Goodramgate which is smaller and I think with a more limited menu - our lass reckons it's not as good as the Fossgate one though.
Learn to cook.Tomorrow I move to York for a year or potentially longer. I know the drinking fairly well as me mate lives down there, but I'm a shite cook and will probably be eating out most days.
Recommendations?
Aye? Better than martinos?Il Paradiso del Cibo in Walmgate is the best Italian restaurant I’ve eaten in in this country
Na didnt do any of that. Did the dungeon as they have changed a couple of things. Couple of National Trust places (Treasurers House and Goddard House) and then a ghost walk on night to kill a couple of hours. Plenty of beer in between them thoughCheers.
