They are from the 2018 batch, the replacement balls, not the 2019 batch. This years balls swing about 40% less than last years

Agree with this tbh. Any idiot could see it hit the bat, Athers even stated as much and sky won’t slag the umpires off for anything. Imagine the uproar if the missing didn’t save their blushes. Getting shafted here between the umpires and the ball chabge.

Not all replacements are from the 2018 batch though. It’s if you get a 2018 ball instead of a 2019 ball that you get a huge advantage. You must surely be able to see the advantage in the ball?
