City are set up for life, Liverpool will only be up there as long as Klopp sticks around - their owners don't spend enough unless it involves selling a top player to keep them up their unless they have one of the best managers around keeping them punching above their weight.

Its why im slightly sceptical of American ownership - Kroenke is a very wealthy bloke and married into the Walton Dynasty yet spends very little on players same as the Glazers and as I mentioned FSG at Liverpool.

Whether these guys do things differently who knows however as said FFP is a bastard in trying to compete with the plastic clubs already dining at the table.

Anything is better for us than floundering in league 3

Yep I would say getting back into the Prem is a much more realistic target if these guys come on board.

Really hope it goes well for you lads, I've posted on here many a year and always said I find Everton & Sunderland fans very alike, both proper clubs with fans who deserve to see a bit of success yet sadly have had bugger all in recent times!

Crackers when it comes to Liverpool you mind. They're not punching above their weight in the slightest. They're the most successful club in this country and one of the biggest globally

Looks like Eric Gates to me, and i can just make out two pigs in the under-growth, so it must be him. Obviously going to supply the bacon for the breakfasts..
Plot thickens ....doesnt Gatesy's brother work or have a business in the computer industry in america ?its the right height for gatesy but i thought he was a lot fatter!

Take Klopp out the equation and put in one or two bad managerial appointments and they'll struggle as their owners aint prepared to bankroll them like the likes of Chelsea and City do.

People forget when he first rocked up they had a front line of Ricky Lambert, Origi and David Ngog!

Aye they were punching massively below their weight then though. Top 3 is pretty much where I'd have them along with Arsenal and behind Utd if we had to rank clubs. Anyway, fuck all to do with our impending World changing monorail infrastructure so I'll move on.

Why would they struggle when they have already got one of the best sides in the country? The owners also didn’t mind funding the signings of Alison and Van Dijk either.

The train has left the station for clubs since FFP was implemented - the days of clubs doing a Chelsea or Man City are long over.

Any clubs hope of ever winning a title again will be down to a huge slice of luck and 6 underperforming teams (Leicester) or quality recruitment over a number of seasons (Spurs).

Look at Everton and Wolves - wealthy owners spending big money but our best chances are to finish 5/6th and Wolves could be facing midtable with Europe this year.

If I was a betting man - I would say the consortium have seen you guys as being good value for money in League one (asking price being much less than what a 49k ground stadium club would cost in the prem or championship) and see you guys as being a good investment should they get you promoted to the prem and their share value rocket.

Its exactly why Newcastle wont be bought out until they are out the PL and Ashley drops his asking price.
Mood hoover

To be fair mate, Brendan Rodgers almost won the league too.

I'd much rather we all just remain football friends though and get the convo back to us being rich as fuck.

Ha still very good news for you lads! just all about keeping expectations reasonable- QPR have that Lakishi Mittal who is one of the worlds richest men own a 20% stake in their club yet they aint throwing money around post FFP, Wolves are owned by a wealthy corporation and have been in the league for 2 seasons yet a section of their fans who should be in dream world are moaning they aint challenging for the CL at present - my advice is keep your expectations reasonable and you'll enjoy the ride alot more than expecting these guys to bankroll you like Man City and being disappointed if it doesnt happen :)
Easy to say when your club has consistently been well run over the years (in the main) and when it hasn't its never been run in a disastrous manner where you spend time out of the top flight. On the contrary we have underachieved massively with the the odd false dawn here and there.
