Do you not think credit should go to the Aussie bowlers rather than keep calling our players embarrassing!

Every wicket bar possibly Denly have been very very good balls.

As much as it pains me and everyone else I would imagine but their bowlers on a flat pitch have bowled very very good indeed.

This. Criticism is justified at times but Australia have a pretty formidable attack and they're bowling very well

His agenda against the ECB means all of our players apart from Stokes are embarassing no credit at all to Australia

Hard to be overly critical of bairstow there really. It’s only his record of getting bowled that makes you want to criticise.
Cracking ball but it's easy to make a plan around someone who hardly defends. Most of our middle order have been gotten by the same. Give them a few boundaries and make them lose their head, andrenaline dictates their game, only takes one straight one to skittle them when they're in that headspace.

Nope. This lot is embarrassing. Very weak minded.

So no credit to them whatsoever?

Maybe in other tests, but as a regular cricket watcher like yourself, surely looking at the wickets in this test, the balls that have got the wickets have been very good balls rather than bad shots!

Yeah in other matches we could point the finger at our batsman, but in this test wickets have been down to the quality of the bowling, think that’s pretty clear watching the wickets imo.

They do and they are but it's possible to face good attacks and get a higher average than 7 or whatever as a middle order batsman nonetheless. The sign of a good batsman over a series against a good attack is that he works on weaknesses, Roy, Bairstow and Buttler have basically been out to the same delivery 7 times now.

I'm not quite of Boycott's logic that there is no such thing as an unplayable ball but I do believe that to get bowled you have to give them something with error in your technique. If you look at someone like Smith or really any of the great batsman with reliable averages, it's very apparent that batting is primarily attritional, it's about wearing the attack down. If you're a specialist batsman and youre only spending a few minutes at the crease every innings match after match, it's your technique, no argument.

Embarrassing not giving praise to Australia
For a weak team we don't lose much

That’s definitely fair enough comment, but in this test and innings the wickets have been down to the quality of their bowling.

As sports fans we should be gracious enough to accept that and give their bowlers credit.

They might have worked on it, its possible that they're just not very good test batsmen not their fault they keep being picked. Bairstow has proven before he can be an excellent number 7 but hes in shocking form

The Australian attack is very good and we should give them credit, but our batsmen appear to also like the technique and/or mental capacity to bat time and defend.

Ffs now we are in serious trouble
