Takeover Rumours

On one hand I want to see him succeed here as I really believe he could be a top manager given time and I'm sick of us changing managers. He has also had to build a squad from scratch.

On the other hand he still doesn't seem to know his best team or formation yet and doesn't appear to learn from mistakes (or not quick enough anyway). The team we have on paper anyway should be performing much better. Yeah we've been winning games but let's face it the performances have still been poor.

I think he'll still be here until Christmas at least.
Serious question marra, but on what basis have you formed this opinion?

Where did the whole dull thing come from anyway? 10 years ago I cant remember anyone ever complaining about football being dull. Ive quite enjoyed this season so far.

We don’t create enough chances, not often you come away from games when we’ve been testing the keeper regularly. It has been a slog since January.

If I were the new owners, the first thing I would be doing is ensuring everything from the bottom up is upgraded and ready for when we finally get back to the Premier League. Regardless if we sack Ross now or not, we are still going to be there or thereabouts come Xmas and they can review his position then. The behind the scenes organisation needs sorting desperately.
I agree, these players will be pro Ross and any new manager can't bring in his own players until January so his hands will be tied. If we aren't in the top 2 come January then they will relieve Ross of his duties and allow the new manager to buy in January. Hill and Coton have to go now though.

Deservedly beating Pompey, 5 wins on the spin including beating PL Burnley away, squad seems more settled, Dobson looks promising, Wyke looking a lot better Mcnulty has showed promise in flashes..

Dobson isn't even starting man. How many goals has Wyke scored?

We were poor against Oxford, shite at Ipswich, shite at Rochdale, we made it difficult for ourselves in the first half against Wimbledon and were shambolic against Peterborough...aye class mate.

Don't change history - we were OK against Pompey no better. The only time we've really played well in the league was second half against Wimbledon. If we'd drawn against Pompey no one would have said we deserved better. We have been poor in the league but have got the rub of the green - I am really not a doom mongerer but we need an objective view - we average 1 or 2 shots on target per game - unless that changes we won't go up and that is 100% down to the manager.

I think on performance alone that was one of the worst I have seen since Ross has been here. We scored 2 goals against run of play and Rochdale could have had 3 or 4 in the last 10 minutes alone if they could finish.
So could Portsmouth aswell, we have been outplayed in all games so far this season, how we didn't concede a second against Ipswich was baffling, his shit negative tactics are awful to watch, if the new owners have any sense they will peddle the useless t@#t, he should of gone after the play off final.

Yes it will be good for the takeover to happen but having him in charge worries me for the rest of the season, surely they will have seen that.

I'm not too worried about whether football is dull or not, but many of our performances this season have been poor. By that I mean there's not been many league games I think we've deserved to win. If we get enough points to go up then fine, but when not performing well my concern is that there's enough games where we won't grind out the win to stop us being top two.

Of the games we've had I thought we were very poor against Oxford, desperately poor first half v Ipswich (did better second half admittedly), good enough against Portsmouth after an awful first 40 minutes, played dreadfully against Rochdale and are very lucky to win, got the job done against Wimbledon albeit not massively impressive against a very poor side and then were a disgrace against Peterborough. You might disagree with a fair bit of that but I think many wouldn't. Again, if he can play like that and get us up I suppose you take it, but looking at how badly we've played at least in large spells of nearly every game, I can't say I'm confident that he'll string the kind of runs together that you need in order to win automatic promotion. Law of averages suggests that if you often don't look better than your opponent you'll often lose points
