Takeover Rumours

Of course, we've all been blithely assuming any negotiations concern a manager - but what about a DoF?

I've mentioned that a few times. Some saying not suitable for the role but Allardyce knows the club, is experienced might have been the one advising them and, with his age and fact he's already retired, he might much prefer a role like that rather than a day to day on the training pitch role. Doesn't tally with what Reiver said about severance discussions mind

Our lass is due next year, all the lad is going to know is watching the lads in europe, canny timing
In 18 years time...

"Dad, why we'rnt you at my birth?"

"Well, son. You know this Champions League final ticket you hold in your hands? It's because i was on an internet message board at the time when we got took over by a load of fuck rich Americans"

"Dad? What's the "internet" that you talk of? Is like that failed "Electric car" shite and "global warming" you keep harking on about? Anyhoo, off into town on the monorail, lend us a grand for a pint in the Terminus?"

Hopefully sticking with him until January as this is his bunch of players. If we are in the automatics he deserves the chance of getting us up from January onwards with money to spend. If were not in the top 2 he will be peddled and a new man brought in with money to spend on who he wants.
Replace him in Jan and the replacement has barely got any time to assess the squad and get players he wants in before the window closes.

Now hoping it's Coton who is getting peddled. Genuinely concerned the manager seems to be safe.

The only live experience they’ve had of us is the Wimbledon game though. What if they think it’s like that every week?

Ross will soon have that optimism battered out of them.

Hill and Coton?

I’ll be very surprised if the new owners will be content with the current staff. Even if they don’t immediately start sacking coaching staff, I can’t see them being around long.
If I were the new owners, the first thing I would be doing is ensuring everything from the bottom up is upgraded and ready for when we finally get back to the Premier League. Regardless if we sack Ross now or not, we are still going to be there or thereabouts come Xmas and they can review his position then. The behind the scenes organisation needs sorting desperately.

Hill and Coton?

Possibly, but he made the post about it being similar to the mags situation with Sheffield Wednesday and Bruce, which suggests more having to negotiate to get someone out of a contract to bring them in, rather than what you'd imagine would be a more straightforward discussion about letting existing staff go
