Takeover Rumours

Even at 64, it wouldn't exactly be a long term managerial solution. There arent many 70 year old managers. 7 years could be considered long term. But this is a man who has already retired once. However, there is no denying he would be a popular choice.

Personally, if we are completely speculating, I would absolutely love Wenger as DOF. Genuinely tried to hold that point of view until the takeover is confirmed, but I've had a bottle of wine and I'm f***ing excited about the possibilities of having billionaire owners!

let's not piss about with Allardyce. He was decent here by our very low standards.

If we've got Man City type cash let's get a proper top class manager or a young manager with a vision. He's the worst of both worlds......over the hill and rank average at the top table.

What top class manager is going to come to League 1?

His agent mates would be rubbing their hands in glee.

After we were gifted a goal they gave absolutely nothing for the fans to shout about. Don't get me wrong I was still chanting/ singing etc but a lot of fans need something on the pitch to get behind and they simply didn't produce. I felt the club made a mistake by not having a designated singing section like other clubs did. Regardless I think the fans who turned up all season didn't really deserve to be criticised at all. Huge numbers, paid to go to Wembley twice in quick succession. Fair enough you agreed with him, but for me it's the one where I thought he could have done with keeping quiet. Anyway, onwards and upwards and like I said I like Methven and think he deserves a lot of praise when this is signed off
We still had more possession and more chances at goal than charlton, but it sounded like a home game for them.. I couldn't believe how apathetic our support was considering the importance of the game..

He kept us up, then accepted the role of a lifetime. As simple as that imo. I Dont blame him at all.

He scraped survival due to how bad the mags were after being nowt more than average until the last few games. Then he fucked us off as soon as he got a better off, didn't even respect the club/fans enough to sit on his fat arse until full time at Hartlepool.

The love-in for him is baffling.

Sorry mate but I find this post more baffling.

England came calling ffs.

Better atmosphere and team spirit. Still not a Sunderland team that I enjoy watching but I'm falling out of love with the modern game anyway.
See what you are saying marra. I'm the same but my 11yr old absolutely loves it.

Got to agree with your last comment.
