Takeover Rumours

If we can't get excited about the possibilities with these owners then there's not much point bothering with football tbh. Yes we might fuck things up, or maybe they'll not invest half as much as we hope and we'll win nowt. They aren't here to see their club stuck in the championship though, and they've got the funds to make sure we aren't. They'll obviously want to build something here. I actually feel genuinely sorry for any SAFC fan who isn't excited by this news, the only thing I can think of that would be better is actually winning something; knowing we can actually compete with any other club which might help us be successful in the future is the next best thing
100% this. I mean, what more does it take to get some people excited and hopeful?

Pretty much this. I love the thought of going into a premier league season thinking we'll be fine, at least mid table and relegation isn't a worry. Imagine that? Let's hope for the best.

This, if you can't look at this with a genuine amount of positivity then you should probably stop going to football. Like you say, we could easily balls this up and end up not really getting very far. One things for sure though, they will want their money back one day when they leave and when that happens we will have to be a premier league club for them to make an significant profit. If they can establish us in the top 10 and give us the odd cup run then I would be more than happy with that. If we were to go further and actually make it into Europe, I just hope the first tie is in Milan.

I just feel they are looking at our stadium to be used as multi purpose arena more than anything else. They have no history in plowing money into sports teams, so I think that they will be very prudent regarding any money for our football team.. History has taught me never to have too high expectations regarding Sunderland..
Fantastic, the days of having a giant stadium empty and unused for most of its life should be a thing of the past. Get the f***ing thing grafting and make some money for the local economy and the club....

If you can't get excited by this potential takeover then you may aswell pack it in to be honest. Aye it might be total shite and they do nowt but now is the time to actually think of being in the champions league in 10 years time not worrying about them being prudent with money

Don't forget the stadium roof first mate.
I get excited every game I go too, win lose or draw I back my team to the hilt.. Whether we are bankrolled by Billionaires or as I suspect far less than people think, it will make no difference to the love and support I give Sunderland AFC..

Fair enough, can't possibly imagine how you will feel the same going into next season if we were watching this lot in league 1 compared to going up and having a right go at getting back in to the prem but each to their own.

No chance are a group of multi billionaires investing to make a few quid each, just can't believe it for a second. Vanity project with a chance of making big money if we make it all the way.
😂 I was just about to type as a serious reply that owning the biggest club in the world of the biggest sport in the world was what they probably fancied. Then realised that I was typing it without any level of humour or tongue in cheek. So I shook my head laughed and said give ower man.
What a f***ing story this thing is man.😂

Even if it end up going to shite typical SAFC style, it's great to be able to dream and have hope for a while. Crazy week of events as a fan, onwards and upwards.

I wouldn't hold your breath. There are some very bitter people on this forum who can't admit what a great job they have done.

The grief they have received from a section of our support is very odd.
They were warned from the very beginning, Keep of social media. Did they listen, No.

I think you may be getting these fellas personal investment in the club mixed up with their roles under Dell and the MSD group.

There's no history of them doing any such thing because they've never done anything like this before!....yes they'll want to maximise the stadiums potential (no bad thing for the club or the area) but these fellas aren't coming here to fuck about, these types are at the top of everything they do and that won't suddenly change when they take over here.
