Spiders in my house/garden

Wow. I think that top one is a Dolomedes Fimbriatus. A beautiful Raft Spider in layman's terms. You don't live in the Fens by any chance. It could also be a Pisaura Mirsbilis. The Dolomedes eats small fish and is recorded as the largest spider in England.

That fellow in the middle could be a Scytodes. A spitting spider. It looks like it's used its sticky gob to catch that fly.

At the bottom we have the much Maligned Tegeneria. The common house spider. Too many about at this time of year. My love and interest ends here. They are scary bastards!

I love spiders but the Tegeneria species can go extinct for me like, I actually hate them!
This is the only time I've seen a Raft Spider but I thought they had white on the back looking on Google, I'm in Seaham.
As for the middle one our garage is full of them, they get massive too but I don't think it's a spitting spider - is it not a Cellar Spider?

Yeah the one at the top could be a Pisaura (related to Dolomedes).

Middle one - yeah. It's a Pholcus alright. I wasn't sure of the scale. They are massive but don't bother me. Don't really think of them as spiders. A Scytodes has exactly the same markings but is much smaller.

Tegenarias are sinister. Second only to Dysdera in terms of striking fear into me. I've been bitten by a dystera - it registered!

I've tried to handle Tegenaria before but I just can't bring myself to do it, seen loads of people do it on youtube like. I have no fear of Dystera quite like them tbh bit then I haven't been bitten....

Yeah, down in a small corner of Victoria. Not had any in the current house but the last one we had dozens of them. Mostly Whitetails in this one, but they are not so good models for a photograph.
Had these though. Christmas spiders.

And of course, being in Australia, a Redback but not a very great photo...

That's a fine Latrodectus! Have you ever bumped into an atrax / funnel Web? Which spider are the locals most scared of?

Not had the pleasure of a funnel web yet, at least not at home. I'll post a picture if that ever changes. So far, it is not really spiders that people are worried about - that is more the snakes.

The spider stories that I hear most from people are when they have had a huntsman appear unexpectedly from the car air conditioning vents or falling into their laps when they drop their sun visor and it is hiding behind it. This happens often.

Found this the other day right where my phone cable was lying ffs....put him in the garden.....probably walked right back in. It was far slower than normal too for some reason.
