Takeover Rumours

He's not gonna manage in league one and I imagine they his salary requirements would be an issue given our budget limitations, it doesn't matter how rich the prospective owners are, you can't just spend spend spend

Unless they start the whole shell company crack and pay him through some offshore lark, I guess

Interestingly SMCP only limits only apply to player costs - there's no mention of coaching expenditure in the regulations. Despite that, I couldn't see Sam wanting to manage in League 1.

I wasn't sure whether to post this as I'd hoped people were switched on enough to work it out.

Ask yourselves whether they'd be aware of the massive amount of money Short lost.

Ask yourselves if they have a few quid.

Ask yourselves if they'd use some of that money to engage an experienced retired English manager to advise them, on the quiet, before, during and after the takeover.

Come on people, wake up ...

... or else I'll have to resort to a video clip using f***ing glove puppets to represent the various characters
Mate, I seriously want to believe everything that you’ve posted. I’ve been following this thread intently waiting for news. Thing is, and please don’t take this the wrong way, I’m finding all of your posts just too hard to believe. There have been so many so-called ITKs on here, most of whom are capable of karate chopping a seagull in half. I’m 53 years old and apart from one day in 1973 this club has brought me more shite than I care to remember. Just tell me you’re not on a wind up mate!

As an aside, do staff costs count towards FFP? Presume they do like, just wondering if the plan might be more to have Allardyce as a Director of Football, rather than manager. Might suit him better at his age, will add another football person to the set up, can benefit from his contacts, might be a good plan for all

The interesting dynamic in this takeover is that SD will be staying on to run things.

I do wonder how that will go as he will no doubt have to report playing progress, recruitment etc to the new owners and as his mate in Richard Hill and to an extent Tony Coton are in charge of scouting and recruitment he won't be able to dismiss a lack of, or failure of performance on their parts

Can't see it long term.

Don't think the bloke would be on a wind up mind. He's the type of person who goes out of his way to help other fans with tickets and the likes, that doesn't really tally with someone who wants to build people's hopes up for nowt. Plus plenty on here know him, so if he was making all these contacts up, someone would pull him up on it. He's also far from being a poster who seeks attention. It'll be true, and sounds like it's too far through to fail now, let's just hope it's as good as we all hope

The funny thing is, the toxicity isn't as evident at away games. It's much more prevalent at home games. Regardless of the result, when I get to away games the atmosphere is always much better and more supportive.

Everyone's pissed and the Townies don't fook off on 80 mins ....
After Countryfile apparently :lol::lol:

Best show of the week any info release should be held owa....

Dinnit worry mate, it will all come out in the wash, one way or the other but I'm an optimist so I'll believe what you say is true.... ;)

For now

thanks for the update @Reiver 👍 it all sounds absolutely fantastic
just be careful not to reveal too much about who your source is though mate, the powers that be obviously read this board, and it might come back and bite you on the arse. if it gets back to him, he may not be too happy
