Florida

Flying out to Orlando sunday morning.
Hurricane arrives the day after ffs.
Anyone have experience of this type of thing / adverse weather conditions when over there?
Yeh, we were there for the last one 2 years ago. Irma. Tbh, it wasn't great. Two days pretty much under enforced curfew!

Get some snack and drink supplies in if you can before the bad weather hits.
You might not be able to go out for a day or so.

My poor folks got irma, and they're due back there on Monday. They are f***ing jinxed.

Sounds crazy but I would love to experience one last time I went it was afterwards though just seen trees blown down but not much damage.

The mega impressive thing was the teams who came in to sort it out. They were everywhere, hundreds and hundreds of them. Amazing really. We'd never manage it here

A little bit of wind and rain and were fucked...

They don't mess about over there that's for sure.

It's the same as when it snows in Canada etc. Worth paying for the infrastructure. I'd be canny pissed off if we spent millions on something that's hardly likely to happen.
I know usually just go with family as bairns love the theme parks and I love the food.

Tbf love the parks too still a big kid haha
Tell me about it mate.

Will be going next year probably October time though as not as hot.

Been a few times usually in September/October but went once in July and it was crazy hot.

The humidity doesn't help either wasn't enjoyable walking around parks etc as was constantly sweating.

We're trying January next year. The bairns were chewed with the heat. Knowing my luck it'll be freezing.

Surely still be 25+?
Probably better mate as be less queues as well
Was minus 2-5 the other year, and windy as fuck. My folk where there - yet more shit weather for them.
And the place was utterly packed - moreso than I'd ever seen - Magic Kingdom gates actually shut a few times.

All the vehicles they had for it surprised me. They were very specialised, and there were hundreds of them.

Just had a text, my folk's flight on Monday has just been cancelled.

Ffs. Shit. What are they going to do?
They were checking for free seats last night, and there were very few. And they'll be gone by now.
They're just not going at all now as far as I know.
Maybe go out in March. They said they'd never do "winter" again after last time when it was freezing. Last time they went in May, it f***ing chucked down the entire fortnight too, and they hated it and went back that same september.

Honestly, its them. They're a f***ing curse.

Awful that like. Was it a package?

Nope. But they have insurance.

Just texted me, they're going to try to get out asap instead. Probably 2-3 weeks time though.

The hotel can be cancelled up to 24hrs in advance (they booked that Lastminute.com secret hotel trick that I've mentioned here a few times - same hotel as we always use!). Only the car and Airport parking to claim off the insurance anyway, so its no big deal.

Mind, there's Dreamliner return flights from Manchester for £260 each on Wednesday, for anyone who fancies a punt!!!!!
