That's bullshit mate. Geordieland used to refer to the North East (excluding Middlesbrough of course as as they were Yorkshire twats). Mackem wasn't in general parlance in the 1960's as it was more about the shipyards. Everyone identified as a Geordie, and there were even Geordie passports for sale across the NE.

person two wouldnt be calling them a liar. they're just not believing that information. i guarantee you've said to someone "i don't believe you" and you weren't calling them a liar.

Scott Dobson made up shite, I grew up in Sunderland in the 1960's, and we always identified ourselves as Geordies as did the rest of the nation. I was at university in Newcastle when the Hall Geordie Nation shite started and that quickly changed things as people from non-NUFC backgrounds distanced themselves from anything to do with it.

The news is: some people on here have accused other people of lying. Some people have said it’s not lying, it’s just that they don’t believe them . Others have said that not believing them is the same as lying. Some have disagreed with that. Also, some people say that you should only be called a Geordie if you’re from Newcastle. Others have disagreed and said it can be anywhere in the north east. Others have said, no, it’s only certain parts of the north east. Some have said you can still be a Sunderland fan and be a Geordie. Others disagree.
Nothing on the takeover front though.

That’s completely different to what he’s done though. Someone stating they think the weather might be good tomorrow when nobody can know for certain is not the same as a bloke posting information he’s been given and sharing it and another bloke saying he doesn’t believe him and claiming he’s on the wind up.
If he doesn’t believe that the lad has information when he’s said he has, that’s accusing him of lying.

I agree with you, that is why I have said we should get back to calling them mags And not Geordie's.
It's about time Geordie's was taken back for all the north east and not just associated with the mags.

to be fair there's no proof so he's right to say he doesn't believe him and that's his chocie. he's not saying he's lying. like the link says, it's just saying "you'll have to convince me with better information".
