Takeover Rumours

As a relatively new poster it appears to me that the pattern is as follows;

A new thread is posted.

Sunderland supporters post varying opinions in response but are generally civil and positive towards safc.

Thinly disguised mags post negativity and insults.

Thread gets locked.

How the moderators cannot see the same is beyond me...
I recognize that posting style from somewhere. Can’t quite put my finger on it.

So now we're back to the actual thread subject, 'Our impending world domination', I'll just summarise what I know as facts.
(Sorry if this sounds preposterous but it's all true as various posters would confirm.)

  • The buyer's accountants, massive firm I can't name, has taken the books apart and OK'd them - confirmed by my millionaire Italian friend who uses them
  • The deal has been totally agreed with all parties
  • The EFL is the last part of the jigsaw but it's being described to me as a formality - "Can you provide proof you have more money than Stewart Donald?"
  • A fella from a well known beer producing family has told me his mate, one of the 4 buyers, has described himself as 'Sunderland's new owner'
  • I'm seeing him on Sunday when he's promised to give me the whole story
  • Sadly/happily I think it may well be announced before then so I won't be able to 'get in first'
  • It's been described, to me, as a long term legacy project involving as many bodies as possible - no Mafia puns intended
I’ll stick the moretti on ice

Sounds wank count me out.

I understand people being cautious, but some of the doom on here is staggering. I'm choosing to believe it - if it doesn't come off I'll be disappointed, but after decades of watching Sunderland, I'm good at coping with that. If you can't let yourself get just a bit excited about this, there's something not right.
Exactly, you hear good news you naturally get excited. If comes off then it’s brilliant, if it doesn’t then we’re no worse off than we are now. Still can’t believe this is happening mind.

Welcome to the new and improved, SAFC.

Ha’way the lads!

I’m old....I’ve been kicked in the teeth so many time as a Lads fan over the decades....so, I’m now naturally pessimistic that things will ever change.....
BUT!!.....that is brilliant mate!
Thank you for the info. Smile on my face as wide as Steve Bruce’s arse!

ah wey, twas good while it lasted:(
DAY 1

The SAFC takeover proceeded smoothly, the new owners assuring supporters that significant funds will be made available for acquisitions to the squad.

DAY 367

Newly promoted Sunderland invest heavily in several young, hungry players with burgeoning reputations, the owners remarking that such players will not only improve the playing squad but enable the club to sell them on at a significant profit in the future, thereby financing further acquisitions.

DAY x

Watch this space.

Sounds great. Shibboleths may be required to winnow out future mag defectors....

Well I suppose we can just bump this when it derails on here......again.

Good stuff.

Ah right. Was just trying to think of Billionaire brewing families who move in those circles. De Carvalho/Heineken sprung to mind.

The Italian and the British brewing fella are two different people mate.

If I could post the brewer I would but I have to be respectful of people's privacy.
