While we indulge in starry-eyed speculation about how much to expand the SoL, how about a single tier Roker End going a long way back, like the new White Hart Lane? If 'safe standing' ever came in, it might evoke memories of Roker Park, re-creating the passion and carnage of a by-gone age.

I'd rather we built a replica of Roker Park, albeit it would have to be all seater, so just scale it upwards on the same scale and set capacity at around 40k. That would do. Make the focus the generation of atmosphere and acoustics.

Can't see us extending until we constantly sell out and it would probably take a steady top 8 team to do that. I'm confident we could though. Start grabbing back some of that territory in between us and the mags.
 
I think these guys are okay with spending money to make money but I doubt they will be taking Man City’s reckless approach to money where they seem to throw it around like confetti.

You can't recreate that
too many people are doing selfies or txting on mobiles instead of adding to the atmosphere

You're right. I guess the downside of the massive project that this might become, is that we will get the tourists in. I used to borrow a mate's SC at Arsenal, and some of the people where he sat spent the whole time yammering and taking selfies. Still, I suppose they had spent their £60.:rolleyes:
