Over here lots of cities have a modern take on a food court/market where several local businesses take over and share a big building with communal seating. Usually relatively inexpensive food, but we'll done.

Is there owt like that already in Sunderland? One near the stadium would know the businesses would be rammed at least once a fortnight.

I don't know if the cultural aspect is transferable. I suppose it would be a more elaborate version of the fanzone and parents/kids would enjoy it.

Part of the day in England is having your route to the ground with specific pubs etc. All getting together in one place, particularly if it's overly corporate or clean cut , seems a bit at odds with what a lot of our support enjoys.

Works at City and Spurs like so maybe I'm totally wrong.

I totally get what you mean. I guess it only works if most people see it as massively better than whatever they do now. I have to say my experience at Dallas was awesome, if we had similar I would be there every week

I said a while back that the lookers building opposite the current fanzone would make a fantastic all weather fanzone on match days and sports bar on none match days.
Plenty of space inside for inclement weather use and space outside for the less inclement weather.
