I think if you compared average with recent average it would be quite a bit worse though.

Been bowled out for less than 100 five times in the past year

Edit: Sorry it’s less than 150 but it’s happened 7 times in the past two years but five of those were in past six months

Yeah. England have more than a few who will occasionally go and have a ridiculously good innings, which massively boosts the “average” - which of course it isn’t in the truest sense of the word, because they’re shockingly inconsistent. E.g in the last test Ben Stokes’ 15 in the first innings, followed by 115 in the second.

England don’t currently have someone like a Steve Smith who bats around (or above) their average with any degree of consistency.

would you believe it? And here I was thinking that we'd just scientifically proven that we'd get at least 309 in this innings!

Looked a good ball that one but this batting lineup needs to be apologising to the bowlers. Glad the stupid Aussie fuckwit is pissing off at the end of it.
