3rd Ashes Test - Headingley

He has to take some responsibility as captain, not so much for the pitfalls of others but for the general team performance.

I agree with that, and don't particularly rate him as a captain. But people are blaming him for our batsmen being utter shite. These ODI openers won't suddenly become Test match players with a new captain.

Gone from we have the momentum (after Lords) and we will win the next test to we are absolutely dogshit and to drop everyone (and this is after most buzzing last night and yalk of getting a lead of 250 plus).

Like a football crowd in here once again.
Got a bit lairly last night too. Thought the crowd were in largely good spirits yesterday despite the weather

Just a quick note on Headingley - not sure if it's the same with all grounds - but the alcohol on tap yesterday was a f***ing joke. £5 for a pint watery piss Fosters or foamy shite Tetleys. First Test in years where I've stayed on the soft drinks all day

Selection has muddled if I'm being generous (or "shite" if I'm not) for a while now

Expecting Roy to open against a red ball that does all sorts just because he clubs the white ball around is laughable

No amount of papering will cover the cracks of losing the urn marra.

You'd think, but this lot have been banging away at this strategy for years, including having their arses handed to them down under.

Bayliss is going anyway, but who is going to be captain? I think Stokes would be a bad idea, but who else this there? Burns is a good captain by all accounts, but its another level captaining England and unless he finds a way to deal with the short stuff he won't be around much longer anyway.

I've found the Tetley’s to be alright down there. I say alright as it Dorsnt ever get better than that.

And then have our best batsman batting at 3 so he's essentially acting as opener is another good move.... Then you've got a very poor number 4. Its quite easy to see why we struggle. Our bowlers must be sick as chips.

Selection has been very lazy for some time now.

Denly scored some runs and took some wickets in the T20 so he's taken to SL to open and be third choice spinner, despite looking poor at his last shot at international cricket some years prior, and barely having a good season for 10 years.
