3rd Ashes Test - Headingley

What do we reckon then? We're all saying it, everyone knew it already, the interviews with the players last night and this morning all said it: Loose shots at Headlingley will kill you.

But they've gone out this morning and batted like clubbies. Lack of prep? A bad plan? Braindead?

Poor planning and coaching. Everyone can see where the problems lie with England's top order but not one of them have improved lately.

Ignore Warner's innings as it was a complete fluke. The only player who managed to look like a batsmen on this pitch was the new lad with a name I'm not going to try and spell.

All of these players have been on the county circuit, they all know about the ground. Broad and Jof in their interviews both saying you put the ball in places and if the batsman are loose you'll get them.

So they know.

But then that.

Are they being encouraged to play in this way? It's a possibility. They can't all be that braindead surely? - Stokes and Buttler have managed to play restrained innings before.
