I’ll believe it when I see it but for time being it’s nice to dream a little.

Will be one in the eye for those who claim nobody with any clout would want to step foot into north east though.

I swear people still think we all wear flat caps and use outside nettys up here!

Wait, you don't?

Was nowt more than a rumour last I knew last night, turn me phone on this morning, log on here and     Really don't want to believe it until everything's official but virtually impossible to contain me excitement.

Perhaps travelling to see Sunderland play in Europe is a possibility at some point within my lifetime after all? Albeit a fair way off
Swansea

we also wouldnt egt as much interest if we were heavily loss making..and had loadds of hhigh earning shit players...

ellis wiped the debt last year..no one wanted us even with the debt wiped..except SD and CM..they put the work and capital in to fix us..so its a combination of both things..

Yes, they've trimmed well and found an excellent buyer. It's not an either/or.
Sorry, but, 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Still prefer the simple

The principals of MSD Capital in 2009 formed MSD Partners, an investment adviser registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, to enable outside investors to invest in strategies that were developed by MSD Capital . These strategies include the equities of public and private companies, credit, real estate and other asset classes and securities.
MSD Partners operates from New York and London . MSD Partners' Private Capital Group is led by Douglas Londal, who joined in 2015 from New Mountain Capital, where he was President .
The Private Capital Group is primarily focused on control private equity investments. In 2017, it invested a combined $650 million in the acquisitions of Hayward Industries Inc. and Ring Container Technologies Inc. MSD Partners committed $1.4 billion to seven investments between January 2016 and October 2017.
In 2013, MSD Partners participated with Michael Dell and Silver Lake Partners in the acquisition of Dell Inc., worth approximately $24 billion.

This from Wikipedia about MSD Partners...

Forgive my ignorance but i cannot be arsed with 100+ pages. Who are the four?

Three bankers/hedge fund types, who are just about billionaires themselves. The big money is the fourth - Michael Dell, of Dell Technology. You know, the computers. Sold f***ing shitloads of them and is the 39th richest man in the world.

All-told, only really City in English football who would have more money than our owners, especially when you throw Sartori in. Big. No suggesting they will spend like that, but still - it's huge.

No they wouldn't.

I know this sounds somewhat daft and a bit soft of me but I dont care. Hoping this all comes off and we see the scarf etc as I dont want to get too ecstatic about things until the deal is done (like a house sale falling through), but when I resd this line in the Chronicle I got a huge lump in my throat.. "Sunderland owner Stewart Donald has agreed to sell a majority stake in the football club to four US men who would collectively make the Black Cats one of the richest-owned clubs in the world. "
I think what did it is thinking about those friends and family and of course SMB'ers who are no longer with us, that always hoped. If any real success comes of this Ill raise many a glass to them all. Haaway
Nice sentiment.
