Takeover Rumours

Their takeover wasn’t close to happening, this is one is just short of an official announcement. We are a league one club and a bloke in the top 25 richest men in the world wants to invest in our club, if we can’t get giddy about that then their is no hope.
He gets wet by having a dig at our fans man, just ignore him.

Are we allowed to dream and get excited about this as iirc the mags were mocked for getting all giddy about the Arabs.

Perhaps it’s one rule for one and one for the other though so just checking...........

The difference is that this group don't have to sell themselves as someone more successful's cousin or uncle, they actually have basic things like a website, and it's pretty apparent that the club has briefed the press, as opposed to the buyers, which was a red flag in itself.

I don't know what their plans are, but it isn't hard to tell who's legitimate and who's a chancer.

From Newcastle online....:lol::lol::lol::lol:
  • so we're believing that those two chancers are getting a bloke this rich to buy sunderland are we? seem to recall similar bed wetting about the uruguayan and that's worked out well for them so far

  • Can't see it happening. Plus their scruffy, bitter and jealous fans deserve nothing. "Investors" you don't make money in football nowadays. They would have to put in fortunes to get them top 6 in the PL or anything like that for very little return. I don't see what's in it for them at all.
Scruffy? :lol:
Bitter? :lol::lol:
Jealous? :lol::lol::lol:
This is breaking them and nothing is even confirmed!

I've got a question for you, you being our resident financial expert any idea why the word is that it's going to be outside of MSD's portfolio and us there any benefits for us that it is?

That simply means it's a personal investment by the individuals, outside the main investment structure. It would probably mean they'll set up a US-based LLP between the four of them which will be the actual investment vehicle, and that funds will come from them via that into the club. I'd also expect them to buy a stake in Sunderland Limited, rather than Madrox. It possibly gives them more flexibility than putting the club into the structure of a larger investment group, particularly, perhaps, if there are defined RoC rules within MSD itself; any return from Sunderland is likely to be a slow burner, although the potential upside is huge. Any benefits are more likely to be for them than us directly.

Fuck all wrong with the balti pies man.
That's true, but what is wrong is the cost, quality and level of service of the whole thing. People won't drink in the ground before the game due to this and go to the local clubs and pubs as it's cheaper.

I'm sure @kildaremackem is well aware that all of those things need to improve once the current contract comes to an end. Interesting to see the person involved in setting that up has made yet another spectacular failure with a personal business venture.

Over to you CM!

Fair enough cheers

IF and it’s a big IF this all happens then I hope any investment we get with a view to long term rather than short term. Improving the stadium, catering, match day experience etc. Don’t get me wrong i wouldn’t be against signing Neymar (as back up to McGeady) but I hope there’s a long term strategy that goes beyond their time at the club

So... For the apes like me... Does this mean investment or full control?
