+++|||*** Sunderland V Rochdale ***|||+++

I have never been in this situation regarding a manager in my life. Judging by the match thread we were terrible again. I think even ross's staunchest supporters would admit he never going to be a top manager, the performances have been poor. Anyone saying we should stick with him would rightly point to our results so far this season. I really cannot see him taking us up and firmly believe he will be sacked this season. Even if we did get promoted he would definitely be badly exposed in the championship. Unfortunately these results have bought him more time and have papered over the cracks. I just hope when his luck runs out, which it will, they don't take too much time to act.

What an idiot.
Three wins in seven days. Loads on here moaning and trying to find fault. The same ones were convinced he would be gone by now....maybe they're just clueless gobshites on the internet.

Room for improvement, of course...but some are showing their hand as having an agenda and being unwilling to budge. Pathetic.

Who the f*ck are you to call me an idiot? Ive got a different opinion to you. You have the outlook of an ostrich. You are the idiot if you cant see there are issues. I cant really comment in today's performance as i didnt see it. But judging by the match threads there are plenty more "idiots" who can see it was another poor performance and indeed many saying they cannot believe we held on. Do you think that is going to hold out over a season?

Are you an ostrich?

You didn't even watch the game, but have an opinion and I am the ostrich?

f***ing clueless. You have your head buried so far up your own arse you can only dream of burying it in the sand.

no offence mate but who identifies the players to you at the match

No problem and you would think normally it would be easy to sort out who is who.

The match programme. It wouldn't be an issue normally, but with relegation to League 1 there's been a lot of new faces to get used to.

Additionally, if you suffer ever so slightly from Prosopagnosia, it takes slightly longer than normal to lock names to faces.

The players are obviously digging in, coming back from losing/drawing positions.

If that wasn't the case I'd be more worried.

Agreed. When it's down to them reacting on the pitch they're straight on the front foot. I have no idea if this is down to "game management" from Ross or not, I just wish he'd give the players more freedom.

Budge from what exactly?

We were shite, I don’t see how anyone can claim otherwise. Especially in the 1st half. Another slow, laboured performance lacking in any creativity.

We won, which is the main thing of course, but it was absolutely shite and it has been for most of of 2019

The lads right. We were shite and out played for large a majority of the game.

It was another game where we relied on a a couple of flashes of quality to see us over the line. It was the same last year and it was our undoing.

I thought McGeadys overall game was fairly poor considering he was up against a 16 year old.

Happy with the win, however, performances are still alarmingly poor.

Same as that useless fecker Maja. All he used to do was score.
I don't recall Maja trying umpteen stopovers before either having the ball pinched or spooning a cross into the strands but apart from that exactly the same. I doubt Mcgeady's passing stats were up to much.

That said, 1 moment of quality buys him a place in the side. It's silly to ignore the fact that the rest of his game was poor though.

We were very poor and second best for most of the game. Even a draw would have been harsh on Rochdale. They had the majority of the play, played some great football and just let down by poor finishing. They had lads on that pitch who were 16 year old and others on rolling contracts on tiny salaries.

Was very impressed at how their coach set them up with a clear identity and way of playing.

Thought we were very very poor. Only the odd flash of quality from the usual suspect got us out of the hole. That's my worry, same as last season.

Chuffed with the result but this still feels like last season again. As it stands we look like we could go on to miss out by a couple of wins, that said we could hit it off and piss the league.

Only 10 days to sign players now I think, can't really sack a manager who has won back to back league games so it's time to just get behind the whole setup now I guess, que sera.
