Donald says 1 transfer incoming could end up being 3

It doesn't make every other sentence in it inaccurate though does it? If I say the sky in blue and the the sea is pink, the sky is still blue. It makes that part inaccurate do he focuses on that instead. It turned out varies parts of the article wast correct.

Ross comments:

'Although they (the takeover talks) don’t have a direct, day-to-day impact on me, through the summer they did because they affected our planning and what our structure would be.
ah so they didnt impact the finance. They impacted whether we would have a DOF fo example? BUt didnt impact him day to day..thats excellent, he can get on wit his job as they didnt affect him.

In the DM article, every sentence about how much they paid for the club and how much profit they would make is innaucruare, because itd oesnt relfect juan buying in, and njuan wnating a cut on the way out.

Big fan of Donald aren't you

I don't mind him at all tbh 😂. I'm just not one that thinks every word he says is 100% true. It woukdnt be commercially, or ethically beneficial him him or the club to be totally honest, and I wouldn't expect him to be.

He does tend to get quite shifty though.

Don't know how they could have affected anything at all if the takeover was nowhere near close to happening? Why would they?

i wonder if its intnetionally shifty or he is just a bad communicator, someone who shouldnt be the front man, i mean he is a nubers guy no a sales/marleting guy? though then i realise the £10m and other matters about how they acquired the club they were not just bad at communicating, but actually dishonet.

because the media were reprootng a DOF was coming..that would make jack uncertain about the structure? wasnt there even a story that he et john park to discuss stuff? that has an impact. even if its just believing the stories..

Probably a bit of both tbf. All businessmen like a bit of bravado and the best ones are arguably the best bullshitters. If you are trying to get as much investment as possible, or attract interest then 'we have the best finances in the football league' or 'we bought the club for 37 million' sounds a hell of a lot better than various other options.

If he's such an arsehole why would he be worth so much and why aren't they desperate to get rid?
As no-one has been willing to pay £2.5m to sign Maddison the valuation is only hypothetical and it may have been inserted as a release clause in the contractual terms at the behest of the player’s agent so that Peterborough couldn’t prevent his client moving to a big club on higher wages.

We don’t know that Peterborough aren’t desperate to get him out. As a negotiating tactic, screaming “We want rid of him !” is probably a very poor move.

there is definitely an elemnt of that of course...though £37m was the neterprise value..i dont know what the neterprise value of safc is now, and the equity valie of £12m should be higher,, hard to know by how much.

SD shouldnt have said anything about maddiosn, or any other player we arent signing, he should just have said "his name hasnt been one thats come to me! and if people ask why say its the manager's place to connent on tthat, but he felt he had to respond because of stuff on twitter and on here...and thats really very silly.

Which would suggest the Campbell bid was a lot further down the line than we were led to believe (bar what Nixon was saying). I csnt imagine Parks name in a paper would be enough for Ross to give it a second thought, let alone still comment on it months later, if he hadn't at one point been more thatln frivolous paper talk.

if oyu found out you might be getting a new boss that would take some of your responsibilities potentially, would you not think about it?

They keep giving him new contracts and playing him every week which suggests they aren't desperate to get rid of him.

Compare that to Rodwell. Should we have been offering him around for 20 million instead of paying him to fuck off?

Yes if there was a good chance it was happening and my current boss told me it was going to happen. Not if my boss was telling everyone it was bullshit and all it was, was a bloke with a poor record, saying it in a red top.

maddison isnt a rowdwell...they arent desperate to get rid of him due to lack of ability..but due to money..they sell all their good players..its their business model..so if they have one they cant sell it breaks the entire model on which the club is built..

The Campbell one was happening. Certainly well beyond any other one. That's my point, so he will have told him. It wasn't a coincidence the day Nixon said it had fell through everything started happening in preparation for this season after weeks of silence. He played it down massively after and Nixon got a load of abuse for it.

And as Ross says, it affected his planning and the structure through the summer and may well still be with fresh links now.

I have to admit that I'm a bit concerned about the comments towards McLaughlin and his agent. I think if anyone deserves a pay rise it's him. Sometimes you just have to play the game. Getting on the wrong side of an agent could be dangerous.

As for Maddison, he's attitude has to be a worry. He seems to like a drink and getting into trouble. You have to ask the question is he worth the risk especially if he's back home. Also, I don't think we have the money to sign him.

I get the feeling he wanted a pay rise and a none promotion release clause and SD was saying one or the other please

Regarding Maddison I think Macanthony will be quite happy to see what the crack is come January. If they're near the top and he hasn't signed a new contract I think he'll stick with the release clause figure and gamble on him helping them get up. If they're struggling think he'll offer him about to the highest bidder.

Why does it have to one or the other? It would cost the best part of £3m to replace McLaughlin. The ball is in their court.
Mate, these issues have gone on since contracts were introduced and will always exist - you shouldn't worry about it. At the end of the day the club is trying to do deals that are fair on the player and protect the club and that is what we need. We have got ourselves in an awful position in the past and are trying to avoid that - look at Bolton and see where we and anyone of 70 odd clubs could end up.
