Portsmouth fans today

I was watching the match in a pub on Hayling Island in among a load of Pompey fans. Just before kick off one of them points to the telly and shouts "look they can't even fill their ground", still almost double what you lot get I said, he didn't reply. It was hard to hear clearly in the pub but I did hear the Pompey supporters singing a couple of times, heard more from Sunderland though. The barman smiled when at half time I ask for "two pints of Doom Bar please, one for every goal we scored". :D

I thought they looked poor. I'm glad we didn't sign Marquis.

Considering we made several changes and our formation was a return to the old system, I thought it would be the ideal time for Portsmouth to take advantage of the situation, but they didn't.

I think we'll continue to grow stronger bearing in mind Donald has confirmed that he expects two new players in this week, but that's about the best Portsmouth can offer.

Us and Ipswich for the automatic places.
Match Portsmouth physically and there isn’t much to them. For such a big side their set pieces are shocking. Yesterday in the 2nd half it’s the best we’ve been for a while. Still didn’t create a huge amount but there were positives. Desperate for a left back. We are a bit unbalanced at the minute.

They came all the way from Portsmouth for a 12:30 kick off. Half our stadium was empty, we’re in no position to call other teams support poor.
This,
hate hearing fans point scoring against each other. Everywhere we went last season we took massive numbers yet you could guarantee there'd be one of their fans on twitter next day claiming some tin pot team that brought a few hundred the previous week were louder, it's bullshit it really is.
Pompey brought decent numbers from a long distance away for a 12:30 KO and so far as I'm aware behaved themselves this time so fair bloody play to them.

another mag mate theyre rife
So unless you agree with your opinions everyone is a mag

That was the first time I've watched us since the playoff final as I've been away. From what I've read I was expecting a lot worse. So that was either an improvement, or people have been going ott with their criticism.
definitely a vast improvement on performance mate... I thought we might lose heavy but thankful we pulled (sorry, the Lads) it off.

Fuck off. 30000 for a third division match, without corporate and away supporters figures.. rub yer heed man.

I seen a dozen or so chavs from them aged 16-30 walking past the weatsheaf 10 mins before kick off signing ‘dirty northern bastards’

They got to the traffic lights and a small bald man aged 50-60 chased them up to the colliery tavern. They proper shit themselves.

For some reaaon this just reminded me of something I saw after the game.

Just left seat and was walking down the tunnel bit into where the bars etc are. This fat bloke about 60 decides to jump up and try and touch the roof off it, lands on an even older bloke then falls flat on his arse 😂

Yeah it’s good, but It doesn’t give us the right to criticise proper fans of other clubs.

Met quite a few Pompey yesterday, even had a beer with 3 really sound lads, saw no trouble anywhere, fair play to those who travelled.

Finally someone who gets it. I’m being accused of being a mag for saying it. The irony is thinking we are better than other clubs fans based on attendance is very mag like behaviour
Season ticket holder where?

Where was the first game you attended in 1993?

It was Gary Bennett’s testimonial against Rangers at Roker

Adamfsafc I think you are a pretty coolio. All these so called Mackems on this board slagging Pompey. Why? If you are such a big club why bother with us poor lowly Southern bedwetters. Leave us alone please as your scaring us all. Hopefully both teams will be promoted this season. To all the decent Mackems all the best for the season and see you at Fratton for part 2

Shit support both numbers and noise, they will blame sky and kick off time but If the game was at Portsmouth we would have sold our full allocation
It always amuses me. The thought of trips any fans from South of England to the NE calls for cries of admiration and details of the really difficult journey causes calls of admiration from commentators. My heart would bleed for them if we didn't always have to do that. Oh, and if, like thousands of other North Easterners i hadn't been forced to work all my life all around the world because of f***ing London governments who spend our taxes in the f***ing South East.
Forgive me if I don't weep for the fuckers.
rant over.

They were slating our support
Slating our team
Slating our city as a shithole

This all made the feeling of victory ever more sweet
they should take a look around their own ghastly dump before criticising us.
The glorious Gordon Armstrong wonderful bullet header against a violent Chelsea team at the real Roker end in whatever cup it was in whatever year it was. I was walking on air for days.
