Martin Olsson

so shojld we have released hume in the summer then..if he is already 20 and that level of shite? are the owners wasting wages?
see whether he develops first man. he was looking good last season in the few games he played. He was another level of shit against Oxford mind and if he has another game like that on Saturday then I dont think he'll come back from it with the fans.

I'm Swedish and I have some fresh info om Martin Olsson. Martin and his twin brother Marcus are currently training with swedish top flight team Helsingborgs IF here in Sweden, they are both from the city Helsingborg and started their careers in a local team here(Högaborgs BK) , same team as Celtic legend Henrik Larsson who is coaching Helsingborgs IF now.

Well anyway, Martin and his brother are not currently fit for a game yet but Martin said in the local news paper a week ago that he feels he can be fit in 2 weeks and ready for some match action. So he is not so far away from being fit but match finess seems far away yet. So if we sign him it's for later in the season, if so he is a good addition according to me.

People around here thinks he and his twin brother are going to sign for Helsingborgs, I live in the city and and have a season card since I'm also a fan of Helsingborgs IF for over 30 years. Martin himself says they are interested but also weighing up their options and looking around both here in Sweden and abroad. The feeling is they are both feeling a bit home sick and want to move home to Sweden. That's just what the local gossip is saying.
Used the word Helsingborgs too much, that's concerning.

I saw Seb Larsson playing some weeks ago here in Sweden and he seemed to enjoy his football again. Ofc he didn't agree with the ref much and was shouting and pointing his finger all the time haha.

I still maintain that if he wasn’t shouting and pointing and waving at Martin atkinson he would have been tight on Toure when he scored in the cup final and we would have won the cup

Never said that, not his fault the club have got rid of the 2 players ahead of him this summer and he is just back from injury.

Also not his fault the manager has changed the formation he has probably played since stepping on to a full size pitch aged 11.

Am on holiday at the moment so didn’t see the match but from what I can gather he was v poor though not helped by experienced centre half not helping out and no movement form forwards.

I just think that sadly we jump on a player and destroy them and local lads are never far from the firing line.

Flanagan isn't an experienced centre half. He's an experienced right back being forced to play left centre back because Ross forgot we have to play wing backs and 3 centre backs in a back 5. The formation/set up fucked them both.

Mind, Hume playing out of postion doesn't excuse his poor final ball.

Bipolar again on this board. When Hume was injured last year he steadily rose to being better than Oviedo and James according to those on here

It's almost as if sometimes he plays well and sometimes he doesn't.

Although there are thousands of people on this board so you probably will find people's opinions differ. That's normal is it not?

this is wehy, while there are reasons to be comncerned about recruitment policy..
its really hard to judge..players are being brought in, and played out of position and called shite, but as they are being played out of positon its hard to know whether they are shite in their actaul positon..

or if its a case that the manager asked for a centre back and they got him conor mcloughlin who is a right back..
or asked for a right back and they got him luke onien who is a midfielder..
or asked him for a centre back and he got them flanagan who his most recent manager decsribed only as a full back..then the recruitment department really have a probem..

What a load of shite. I have posted before that I think Ross probably accepted signings last year that he wouldn’t have otherwise but everything you’ve said there is pure conjecture. Are you saying the manager would ok a signing purely based on the recruitment team’s say so?

Connor McLaughlin was clearly brought in to replace Adam Matthews. We had no recognised right backs in the squad. He’d also played half a season at wingback and made the L1 Team of the Season that year so could suit a back 4. It’s neither CM or the recruitment team’s fault that Ross tried to make him do for us what Kyle Walker does for England

Luke O’Nien started the first game of the season last season as a central midfielder. All of his subsequent games were there until we had an injury crisis and he had to slot in at RB. He played well there and has continued in that position.

Flanagan has played 201 league games according to Transfermarkt. Of those 201 games, 157 were starts. Of the games he’s started, he played centre back for 111 of those, left back for 31, right back for 16 and wide midfield for 9. So what you’re saying is that his actual position is one he’s played about 10% of the games he’s started in?

You’ll be telling us he asked for a goalkeeper and got Marc McNulty next!

Wouldn't go off Transfermarket for stuff like that. It's well off for positions, especially in league 1. I was poking at a player (can't remember who now) a few weeks ago and it had him playing a certain position for a full season he had never played before, and that was in the premier league.
Are we giving him it 🤞. 600k for Martin Olsson pretty good deal to me!

Is he fit?

Guessing so if the Swedish lad in this thread reckons he’s been training out there & has said he can play 90
