Asparagus tips



Bend them at the bottom end and at the point where they naturally snap, hoy the little bit away and eat the rest.
Is absolutely the correct answer.

Don't touch them myself anymore mind as the little green bastards are full of purines, and if you suffer from gout you'll know exactly what that means
 
I like the surprise element when you have a piss the morning after eating asparagus. Takes a few seconds to realise what the fuck that smell is.

Remember the Austin Powers film where he is pissing and eating asparagus and the bloke nearby who is looking for him is sniffing the air in disgust. Me and the Mrs were laughing our heads off at the cinema and not one other person got it. Heathens ....

Love them. Trim them, a little coating of olive oil and black pepper and grill them under a high heat for a few minutes turning once when they just start to brown. Absolutely lovely.
Blanche 'em, dry 'em, then wrap 'em in parma/serrano ham with a little grated cheese - I tend to use cheddar on account of usually having some in, but manchego etc all good - line, em up in a row n top off with a little more cheese. Sling 'em in the oven for 5-10 mins and voila! Top tapa.
