I can’t get yours either ,im a traditionalist and as a man it’s my job to provide a beautiful house,holidays ,cars etc for us all .Anything our lass earns does help but it’s upto me to provide for us all .
Old fashioned I know,but that’s how I like it and I have probs the happiest marriage of any bloke I’ve met .

This clarifies what I already knew ,that most people on this forum live in a totally different world to me.I don’t know anyone who’s a stay at home Fatha and the people i do know who would probs jump at the chance are all similar characters ;Slovenly in their ways and would jump at any opportunity to do nowt with themselves .

What I will admit to is taking my beliefs and morals a bit to far and working to hard when I was younger and missing loads of things with the kids ,that is a massive regret .To be a stay at home Fatha ?its an excuse to do fuck all in my books which isn’t in my DNA.

I used to get money off my granda every week or two when I was younger. Sometimes it was £2, sometimes a fiver. That was pocket money.

Same as me. The missus works part time and her money certainly helps but I’d feel very uncomfortable if she was the one beinging in majority of money.

A woman is there to nurture and look after a child ,that’s why she has boobies and a womb .



Imagine being an adult at a dinner party and someone asked what your parents did for a living “me mam went to work everyday and me dad didn’t work,he looked after us “ it would be rather embarrassing don’t you think ?Id give one of my mates pelters for it .

I didn't say that you'd be at home looking after the kids. You'd be out earning the money that you now support your family with. Your wife would be earning twice that.

No ,the more she earns the better obviously .When she gets up the stick though and pops a bairn out then everything changes,she’s Going part time and the money will be worked round .

The kids are more important than both her or me .

I earn a canny bit more than the missus, and she now works part time. If I get to a point where she could duff work if she wanted I'd be fine with that.

If the shoe was on the other foot though I'd not be egotistical and have her work part time or not at all just so I can be the one bringing the money in, as that'd be idiotic.

If someone is to drop hours to look after children it should logically be the one who earns less (within reason). It really is as simple as that.
