Velez Sarsfield have revealed on their official website that Sunderland have paid the Argentine club a sum of €362,500 for Ricky Alvarez due to a ruling made by FIFA after the club lost a court case this summer.

Their cut of the "fee" we were supposed to pay Inter. Msut have been in the contact as part to Inter, part to them. It would have been cheaper to have bought him injured in 2014. We might at least have got something back for him later.

You would think so. It does seem like SAFC have been treated unfairly in relation to Alvarez. But that night be my red and white tinted glasses. I guess if inter had let us do the surgery he wouldn't have played as many games.
