The situation in London

When kids are getting stabbed in your street, would you not consider their future?

I know I would. Cities and large towns are becoming war zones, it’s no wonder he would look to move out to the country for a quieter and safer life for his kids, not necessarily him.

I’m not sure he’s saying it doesn’t, and it’s not like he’s wanting to head back...but out into a more rural spot.

War zones? Jesus wept man.

In terms of offences, including actual attacks, involving a knife for 2018, Sunderland had little under 200. London had over 1,200 in the first quarter for actual attacks.

So that’s

200 a year for Sunderland
4,800 a year for London

277k pop of Sunderland council area
8.8m pop of London

Giving Sunderland a rate of 72 attacks per 100,000 people and London a rate of 54 attacks per 100,000 people

(Based on the numbers you’ve given which I haven’t verified)

I'd be very, very surprised if every knife attack in London was reported to be fair. In a warzone you learn to stitch yourself up :)

I’ve already said it was a little dramatic calling it a war zone!

Think your figures are off too, in the NE there are approx 60 knife offences per 100,000 people, in London its approx 170 per 100,000, which tops the list, with the NW second on that chart with approx 95 per 100,000 people for comparison.

He said Sunderland. You're including morpeth in your figures.

They aren’t my figures. They were provided by someone else earlier.

Remembering the stats for Sunderland weren't just for actual attacks, they were for carrying weapons. London was specifically knife attacks.
