Off to Benidorm

oh benidorm, oh benidorm how i love thee you gave me a black eye and a STD,
that gear i brought was 90% bash, i must admit though i got some decent hash
the rash cleared up with some good medicine and i stopped pissing blood after a week or two
oh benidorm how i miss thee

the end.

Same for me. Hell on earth.

It's great if you visit the right part. If the new town isn't your thing, (it's not mine), then it is hell. If you like quaint and Spanish, there are loads of side streets in the "real" old town that are lovely. The surrounding areas, (Albir and Altea) are beautiful and are a €1.50 bus ride and a world away.

Too many people go to the new town and think that that's all Beni has to offer.
cheers for the knowledge mate.

so both in our late 20s, 4 days for a cheap piss up and open to anything entertainment wise. lively and fun day thoughout but also cheap drinks during the day while were out. Entertainment wise to be more specific we've never been before so want to experience the daft benidorm style so if that means seeing sticky whoever it is, to a seeing a live band as said, open to everything

StickyStar is all over the new town. You'll see her posters everywhere. If that's your thing then the sex on segway show is also a must, as well as the dwarf sex show.

There are some great tribute acts here, depending on your musical tastes. Benidorm Tom (Jones) is legendary. He's on at Talk Of The Coast nightly at 9pm, followed by a Manc comedian called Jimmy Bright.

I can be seen all over town doing various shows but I wouldn't recommend any of them.

Enjoy.

Sticky Vicky hung up her bottle opener a few years ago.

There's a good few comedians do the circuit (Albi is my favourite), some decent bands (Carnaby Street for me)

Couple of sites to get you started.

Who would the reggae band be? We had them on in our hotel , most of the singers/entertainers weren't great but they were spot on

Me and the lass (no) just booked for 4 days next week for a little cheap piss up break.

Whos been before and whats the best stories yous have....surely there must be a few

(also if anyone has been, any recommendations?)
Was there last year with my lass and loved it.

Worse holiday I've ever been on, one of the lads actually got a flight back home after a couple of days.

Or have low class/standards? Just wondering? BTW, I'm not snobby as fuck but have never been just in case it's crap.
It's a laugh. You wouldn't take your family there for a holiday I don't think, but for you and your mates it's just a good laugh. Decent enough bars, lovely beach. Free shots for just walking in some of the bars, loads of tribute acts, loads of acts to give you a laugh. Certainly worth going.

Are there any decent people there though or are they all the dregs of Newcastle, Liverpool and Glasgow?

Had family holidays there, last one three years ago. Just got to gravitate to the old town / Poniente side or the likes of Gemelos 22/26 up the Rincon end, which cater more for families.

We've just come back from there with a 2 year old and a 14 year old and we all had a great time.

Apart from the whole race for the sunbed nonsense there's nothing much you can dislike about it . We were back in the hotel for 9.30 on a night so didn't see any rowdy behaviour. It's clean, beach is lovely etc. Not everyone's cup of tea but when you're stuck to school hols/factory shutdowns it's good for families on a budget

If you go with that attitude you will absolutely hate it
