Ross calls for perspective

In terms of getting into the right areas we did that a lot more often, the final ball however was shocking. The amount of times the ball sailed through their penalty area with no real accuracy was a joke.

There were a few signs of improvement i think. The centre of midfield competed much better and like i said, we got into better areas. We just have to work on making that count a lot better.

Our distribution from centre back was piss poor and needs huge work. Flanagan is the weak link of the 3 imo.

Hume isnt the answer at left back either. I didnt understand why people rated him last season either. Too lightweight, doesnt fully commit to tackles, doesnt compete in the air and was standing off his man numerous times and allowing them free crosses. A left sided wing back and an attacking midfielder away from making real progress imo.
That’s because we have the incorrect players getting in attacking positions we have a fullback on the wing

Hes an idiot
I have just checked over the last ten seasons 4 teams have got automatic promotion with less than 80 goals. Average is 82 and given our goals massively dried up in the second half of last season we would have got 72 if we replicate that level I really don't get his point.

The same people are wrong every season. If I owned SAFC I would ask these people’s opinions n the club and do the exact opposite...every time.

"I understand the expectations of this club, but the reality and what we have in the group is different to the perception,” said the Sunderland boss.

Saying the players arent up to it then?
No, I think he is saying they are shit and the fans have rose tinted specs and, as such, their expectations are not appropriate.

Well he signed them all.
On League One transfers and wages. So we’re doing OK therefore. Get to a Wembley final that we lose narrowly. Get to a Wembley play-off that we lose narrowly. We’re on plan with the owners. We have every chance of promotion this season but for a bit of positivity from the fans.

On the highest spend of any league one club (the rest put together) with the biggest league one wage bill by a long way.
We certainly aren’t in anything like promotion winning form over the last half a season and have been getting worse not better. He needs to improve us. I think you are right it’s probably not a huge improvement but as it stands there are no signs of it happening.

Of course im not happy.

Just smacks of arrogance. We'd hate it if the Mags spoke like this if in the same division.
What's the Mags got to do with it? Anyway I'd expect the Mags to say the same if they were in league one and I'd take the piss if they didn't. Sunderland should not be in the third division, history tells you that.

Let's show a bit arrogance and confidence to go out and beat the opposition rather than should too much respect and fear as we have shown for the best part of half a year

He seems to be getting more and more desperate in every interview, I think he is starting to realise he is up against it a bit.
Some of the claims in this latest interview are strange.
he is songling out a player for criticism..goiod mamagers do the opposiyte and sheild the players..

Fans to blame if we don't go up then?
