Bairstow, Ali, Burns
Shouldn't be in the team for the 1st ashes match (unless Ali bats at 8 or lower), but all 3 will play. Bairstow has a technical flaw since focusing on his 1 day cricket (been brilliant in that format) Burns just doesn't look setup for test cricket Ali is not a good top 7 batter at this time...

Fair play to Burns, rode his luck today and stuck in, hopefully he can kick on in the series from here.

He’s opening the batting in England against a quality attack. You need some luck. But it’s good to see as he’s a proper opener

Sporting wise not really, I’m 33 so in sport over my lifetime it’s hinours even/we’ve edged it. I don’t have the fear about them like my Mam and Dad do.

Never been to Australia, but speaking to relatives who live there it sounds like an exaggerated version of Britain, having the same divisions between politically correct right-on liberal types and unreconstructed racists, with not much in-between.

Aussies have bowled better with the older ball than we did if you ask me. We definitely had conditions in our favour. Just have to make sure we capitalise on it.

Unfortunately we have a team strangely enough don’t fancy trying to get Smith out. They think by feeding him runs and getting him off strike they can just get the other fellas out.
