Broad gets a five-fer.

Bloody well played Smith.

An exceptional score by Smith but the team score isn't. The game is very much alive and now we wait to see what England will do but this is not a winning score. % days and four innings and innings 3 is moving day.

(However, I am expecting England to under perform with the bat and Australia to win)

Have no faith in us getting over 250but im negative

You know there was a time when Root was considered alongside Williamson, Kohli, Smith etc. He's fallen back somewhat and he averages less than 50 now.

If Root isn't getting the big runs and Smith is that might be the difference this series. He'sEngland's premier batsman and he really needs to deliver this series, if he averages less than 40 for the series then his captaincy has to come into question.

Good bowling performance IMO.

Star bowler down, so well done to the others especially Broad.

One world class player has stopped it from being a 120 all out.

Good decision for both openers to come out. If they can't face 2 overs at the dying embers of the first day of an Ashes series then they shouldn't be in the squad.

I think they’re mutually exclusive

If he averages 39 and we win 5-0 then his captaincy doesn’t come into a discussion

If he averages 80 and we lose 4-1 then it does
