European Football Thread 2018/19

Been out to see Union Berlin a few times, and probably the best atmosphere I've ever seen at a game. A really well run, fan oriented club and they have a chance of making it into the Bundesliga today if they can win and Paderborn drop any points.

Eisern Union!
Them and St Pauli are two places I'd love to visit.

They’re my local team, absolutely top class club and would love to see them promoted, St. Pauli are my German team though. Gutted they bottled promotion but delighted to have another derby against HSV next season, they truly fucked up

Valencia must have went on a hell of a run, last time I looked a few months back they were something like 13th.

Yeah they did. It helped that most of the league has been pretty inconsistent and they were able to close the gap to Getafe and Sevilla. Ultimately though whilst they started the season poorly they weren't actually getting beat, just loads of draws and missed chances where they wondered how they'd not managed to win. Once they started converting those draws into wins they shot up the league table.

Marcelino has had criticism this season but finishing 4th, an EL semi and the Copa del Rey final to come is a pretty decent season!

Milan 2-0 Frosinone
Juve 1-1 Atalanta
Napoli 4-1 Inter

Following results mean that Atalanta move up to 3rd but only 1 point separates them from Milan in 5th going into the final day.

Canny draw in Stuttgart for them last night in the Play Off 1st Leg

Aye, did really well to come back from behind twice. They love a draw almost as much as us.

Will still be amazed if they manage to get past them in the second leg, the statistics of the 2 Bundesliga side winning the play off are shocking.

They should have won really, two quality saves from the Stuttgart keeper kept them in it and Stuttgart’s 2nd goal was jammy as fuck. But they’ve done the hard part, draw away from home in an intimidating atmosphere. The only time a Bundesliga team lost the relegation playoff was Hertha Berlin funnily enough so hopefully Union change that!
