George Dobson

yes thats right..the first two..the manager didnt know what positons the players palay in because he dodnt know any english players so played expensive signings out of positon..
Not quite sure I understand your stance. You appear to back everything the owners do but denigrate Jack Ross at every opportunity. He's the manager the owners chose
Ridiculous comment

Maybe we should just continue sign over the hill has beens who don't give a fuck looking for a payday.

This lad has talent and maturity for his age. Been at Arsenal and West Ham and has something to prove.
Exactly the kind of signing we should be making.

This board has given up talking football and is full of Social Media knackas making smart ares comments hoping they'll get loads of likes

(Rant Over)
Sorry I gave you a like, does that make you a social media knacka?

he is the managers the owners chose..so if he fails..it reflects on them, SD has a poor record of recruiting managers at his prevous club as well, for me his comptenece at making football decisions is the number on worry I have I do think JR has not been very good as a manager so far..the owners have been excellent at supplying budget for him to sign players and at sorting out the finances..though Im actually far nore critical of them tan you think..and increasingly more so..but that doesnt take away that JR had more money to spend than any other manager in the league..plus mcgeady and maja bere he came in the door..and dint appear to learn anything as the season went on.

For the record, he seems to have learnt now..as the signinga this summer have broadly been to address the obvious problems..so thats encouraging.

Encouraged by your last paragraph. I think Ross is OK and although worried by our end of season form I'm not convinced it was all his fault. I felt he was having to shore up the defence by filling midfield which left us short in attacking options

Last season the obvious problem was the entire squad, so he needed to bring in an entriely new squad. It was quantity over quality. This season is when it's all or nothing for him. As much as I support him, if he still hasn't got it right this season, he needs to go.

you think none of last seasons squad is good enough? not one? we camer fifth man...the problem was team shape being wrong and the manager not understanding the roles some players play in the team..

That's not what I said at all. Where do I say not one of last season's squad is good enough?:lol:

You just made up an argument and started arguing with yourself.:lol:

If anything, I was trying to agree with you in my post.

We struggled in areas last season, this summer transfer window should (and looks like it is) patching up those areas.

ST, CB and CM comes to mind. In those positions there just isn't enough quality, which is why we only finished fifth.

If we signed Maddison, on paper it would have been the perfect window for me.

he bit where you said: "the probem was the entire sqaud" so he needed ti bring in an entireyl new suqad" made me think you though the entire squad wasnt good enough..because you er said the entire sqaud wasnt good enough.

JR didnt need to bring in an entire squad..he sigend fewere players than some sides that went up..he signed a bunch of proven winners at this level..unfortunately..he didnt knwo what positons they play so got less than the sum of their parts from them..

Also have to remember we lost McGeady & Maguire for the the run in..

Gooch was out of form, another bad injury for Watmore and lack of fitness/form/talent* from Grigg & Wyke (*delete as applicable)

We weren’t anywhere near as formidable attacking wise as people seem to believe, certainly with our available options final 6-8 weeks

What exactly does box to box mean? When we dont have the ball, he sits deep , on the edge of our own box, then when we win the ball, he bombs forward into a forward role, then when we lose it, he hot foots it back to the line in front of the defence ? It sounds tiring.

From The Championship squad I reckon only 2/3 players were good enough to be kept in our XI. We had to bring in a whole new team. I was referring to the Championship squad when I said the entire squad wasn't good enough, not last season's. Obviously.
