Craft Beer

I know I'm gonna get absolute pelters from the SMB for this. But I have to say that some of these American style craft beers are f***ing class

Granted, a bit more expensive, but they are very tasty

Have a Beavertown Neck Oil Session IPA on the go. Very canny
neck oil is a canny beer, but it is British therefore surely it's a real ale. Also they're now owned by Heineken so its Dutch?

Do we call frozen water water or do we call it ice?
 I call it craft beer as well, my point was pretty tongue in cheek but it is still a valid point. Its only called craft beer instead of, you know, ale, because the Americans don't like to acknowledge that someone else did it first. They were clearly the people who came up with the concept of small brewers brewing their own ale type drink aren't they?

Ice is called ice because there wasn't another name for it in English before the Americans started to call it ice.

I will acknowledge that carbonating ale makes it slightly different from cask real ale, but lets not carried away thinking it's a vastly different product. This british "american style craft beer" is pretty much real ale that has been carbonted and put in a nitrokeg (or canned depending on where you're drinking it from.)

To be honest though, the explosion of new "craft beers" has really helped the real ale market and smaller breweries generally, and a lot of them are very nice tasting drinks (as they would be, being basically carbonated real ale.) I'm not actually that prescious about what people call it. :)
