Injuries

Im a few weeks away from having 2 prolapse discs replaced in my neck and one fused.

Its been shit, I've probably gone about things the wrong way (been eating nowt as I can't do any excercise, and drinking more, for the pain and cos I'm bored) but I've lost so much muscle.

Its been about 4 month since I trained, and am looking at another 2 weeks till the op.
Anyone experienced owt like this, or other injuries where they are out of action for ages?
I was hoping to be back training about 2 weeks after the op (making it about 5 month in total) and was wondering how long to regain strength and muscle to how I was previous?

Was off work for a few months the other year. Back was in total bits. Started yoga(baby steps like, just summing it up) and after 4 months of just that started training again, albeit with empty bars and 4kg kettlebells. 19month later I’m in great shape, longest stint I’ve ever had injury free.

How long do you reckon before you were back to full strength.
I'm 44, always looked after myself.
Still goto my boxing club but unsure if I'll ever sparr again. Like doing weights, but I've lost so much weight my shirts are hanging off me.
I'm a bit down about it tbh.
Just want to put on weight, eat well and look better. Seems a long way off though..

It went November 2017 and I’ll be honest with ya it’s probably not till February this year when I started Loading heavier weights, got that explosive movement back. It’s took a lot of patience man, August last year I tried 40kg clean and it put me back a few weeks. Frustrating but ya need short term goals to keep you going with the long term bud, otherwise you’ll crack up(I suffered badly with depression for a long period at the start, housebound, crippled)
I couldn’t even walk the dog at the start, I’m 150kg deadlift atm(aye not huge for the gym Bros but it’s f***ing massive achievement for me)
There’s a lass on YouTube called Brett Larkin who I started with, she does a beginner ‘hatha flow’ 24minutes, when your ready try it but no matter what anyone tells ya about it been a waste of time. Yoga/mobility has totally transformed my body.
Time, some sort of schedule in place for yourself with it and a lot of patience but you’ll get there

Yeah. Bit depressed tbh.
I can walk, that's about it. Everything is a hassle though.
I was 220kg deadlift one rep max, but that was when I was about 17 stone. Down to about 15 (not just from the injury, started to cut a bit too much).
I just long to eat lots and put on weight again.
I'm not very patient!

If you rush it you’ll do yourself no favours bud. Get your back and core strong. Scale everything right back and focus on movement when you get to that stage of thinking of the gym again.
When I first went back to work I was bringing a hot water bottle for my back

I had discs replaced at c4/5 and c6/7 and fused at c5/6.
Came out of hospital over 3 weeks ago, and have just started physio and back at the gym.
Haven't done anything for about 6 months now so struggling.
Still have nerve damage on my right arm.
I lifted 5x 10 at only 20kg today! (I used to do 3x10 at 100kg and 5x5 on 120).
Its going to be a long process.
I'm doing a bit of light rowing and can bike ok.

Has anyone had nerve damage at all and hopefully some positive news?
