Not part of the icc commentary team. I was surprised to see him not used when the pre and post game chats were on.

He was asked on Twitter and replied that he was not selected

I was of the same view until when introducing England v Kiwis, he was very complimentary about both the ground and the surrounding countryside. Unlike Athers and Bumble who are constantly making snide comments about the NE climate,unaware of the irony of they being from temperate Manchester.

I saw him at Durham Station after the game. Surprised how small he is!
 
Hussein is awful and until he stops using these modern terms such as grabbers he will always be poor. He tries to describe things that happen and he struggles.

He is not in the same street as Atherton & Lloyd.

Agreed, Hussain started off excellently years ago but has become almost unbearable and that term "grab" really bugs me - if you grab a catch you will drop it surely? It's a catch Nasser, a catch ffs.

Met Nicholas along with Bob Willis during a break in commentary at CLS years ago, he was a thoroughly pleasant man.

He sounds so smug, and I can't stand how much arse licking him and Ward do.

Female cricket commentators are head and shoulders above football ones who just sound wrong.

Hussain wound me up over the World Cup with comments like "in nick" to the point where I would synch the radio commentary with the telly rather than listen to his patter.
I don't mind Atherton, but his voice gets a bit boring after a couple of days.

Glad it's not just me who thinks this.

I used to have a lot of time for Lloyd as a player and umpire and to a lesser extent a coach but once he embraced the role of The Court Jester of Sky Cricket that was the finish for me.

I also don't know what Atherton's problem with Durham is -even when Plunkett took the last wicket in the 2007 RL Cup Final all he was droning on about was how easy it was to pick up maximum points against them in the early days.

He even managed a dig at Colly during the WC final, saying he received an MBE for scoring 17 runs and bowling 4 overs - there was absolutely no context at all, he just saw him on screen and came out with it. He's a good commentator but definitely seems to have an issue with Collingwood and DCCC.
