Watmore

I must admit to being quite disappointed with his return last year as I thought he would do much better. He was largely poor. Did he get about 10 games before he was injured again?

All of that said mind he offers raw pace and we have precious little of it so I’m hopeful he stays and gets fully fit and as a minimum I think he’s a great option off the bench. Hopefully he can get fully fit and warrants a place in the starting line up

I like the lad and thinks he gets unfair treatment on here. His development has been stunted due to two horrendous injuries. I still think if him and Anichebe had stayed fit during Moyes season we would have stayed up as they were our only outlet and kept opposing teams thinking about defence rather than all out attack

I agree with your sentiment but disagree that the outcome would have been different. We’d certainly have had a better chance though, I’ll agree with that. He does get a hard time though, and would have been good to see what player he could have been if not for the two horrendous knee injuries. Think that tackle on him last season was an absolute disgrace though and intended only to injure the lad - kind of thing that should come with significant month bans or similar

I look at a certain Chitty player who moved from the bindippers..
A couple of years ago his crosses and finishing were terrible, he obviously had talent but playing regularly and working with a world class coach, has made him into a very good player.

Watmore cos of injury has missed a lot of development time. Given time he will improve... it is obvious I am sure to the mockers/haters he has talent!

An injury free season in the turd division should help, not sure how good a coach Ross is mind to improve him

I hope he stays, seeing the highlights he looked our most creative players. His attitude and character has never been in question, I really hope he stays and finally puts his injuries behind him.
Agreed.

Unfortunately I think the dirty xunts will set out to break him in this league. We saw some of that last season and the refs will let them do it too.

Watching that game yesterday made you wonder how he might have developed without the injuries .It also made you realise how static grigg and wyke are ,I don't expect them to gallop about like him but for gods sake MOVE ABOUT AT LEAST.On present form id start dunc against oxford

Bit hard to make appearences ,whilst you have had two cruciate ligament injuries.
Apart from his injuries what facts are we supposed to argue with?
He is far too good for league one football and will prove it to all the naysayers this season.

Sadly there's only anecdotal evidence of that so far. Do you know how many goals he's scored since 2013?

If you believe people in the game, a proper pre season is a big deal and his 2 long term knee injuries are not easy recoveries. So you could make a case that we haven't really seen what he's capable of in 3 years, when he was looking like a promising PL and England youth player.

If Grigg and Wyke fail to look threatening early this season, I hope we throw Watmore and Kimpioka up front and hope raw pace and graft could cause problems.
