Two clubs interested in Oviedo

Ross has said it’s a one in one out. Oviedo is on huge wages for L1.

Get rid and we can not only bring someone in, the wages saved will also help.

For me the jury is still out in respect of Hume but others can cover fullback positions and if getting Oviedo out gives us the chance to bring in a player to address a glaring gap in the squad (e g someone with pace) then it’s an easy decision to make.

I think a half decent manager would have used Oviedo far more effectively last season.

He's the last excuse they have for the complete lack of quality incoming transfers, so I hope it's true.

Tbf, we are still losing money and he is taking £2m+ a year in wages. Shipping him out will be huge for us

Quite possibly- he should look a class apart at this level but apart from an occasional glimpse we never really saw his ability.

It’s not his level mate. He gets kicked to fuck and struggles.

I'd say Willis and McLaughlin seem to be quality signings. What standard of quality are you setting? You will likely be disappointed if you think better than that.

Willis is a middle of the road league one player, Mclaughlin simply hasn't played enough the last two years to judge.

At worst he'll play the season here & then his contract will expire. It's not like we're tied to him on a multi year like Cattermole.

Makes sense to move him on.
I get people’s angst at getting rid of someone who is perceived to be one of our (very) few quality players left but it’s horses for courses.
I wouldn’t mind replacing him with a big physical fullback who might not fly forward
but won’t be outmuscled at the back post and won’t get bullied off the ball.

My thoughts exactly........

Given what's come in recently I'd prefer to keep him given we're lining up s a 352. People can dream all they want about it being wages for 3+ quality signings at this level, it just wont happen and it hasn't been happening. Understand we can't really afford to pay him despite what the owners have said previously, but he's one of few left with ability as a footballer.

Not a chance

I don't really mind as the numbers put into the public arena last week were fairly compelling tbf. Its not great a d losing All his wages would help enormously. Personally I'd use the money on another CB as I don't want to see any of the 4 we had last season start this one.
