Our friend Danny Rose

Rose is not going to the Mags even for £15m. Ashley wants players he can sign but still sell on for decent money during or come end of contract. That's why they didn't buy Rondon even though he was good for them as he'd only be worth a few million come end of the contract. A club can't afford to be run like that as they only have so much money they can lose on player values. I think it's good business sense as then you can often get a big chunk of the initial fee back or even make a profit so you'd end up with very little NET spend. Fancy that, the exact thing the Mags are moaning about even though they've spent over £200m in the last 4 seasons on players and £73m NET spend!

It's sensible because that leaves more coffers for new players/wages etc in future years and the clubs is wasting millions in the virtually impossible task of trying to get into the top positions. They've sold Perez for £30m as it's an offer you can't refuse. They'll look to bring in a younger player that will potentially be worth more come selling time. As long as you buy decent players you should be areet but it will also allow some duffers now and then. In fact if they do get that Joelinton who is just 22 then if he does decent enough they'll just shift him on for a canny profit in a few seasons.

That's what fucked us as we bought many has beens/duffers over the years and lost millions come selling time. I won't bother listing players but we made some really bad investments in players in the Premier League seasons, though we got a few decent ones. They may go for Carroll on a free as it's just wages.

Well you’re an idiot

Articulate response

Given the cost of average footballers in the current market, to get a player like Rose for 15 when players like Perez are going for 30 seems cheap to me?

Happy to listen to why I’m wrong, or you can just call me an idiot again

He’s 29, has played less than 150 games for spurs clearly isn’t first choice has a history of injuries. At best you’re looking at half of that
In all competitions he's played nearly 200 games for Spurs, over 250 including loans in 10 seasons, and is arguably England's first choice left back. £15m is an absolute steal.

Carroll was drinking in Jarrow yesterday afternoon

He's played 171 league games for Spurs and us. It's only 144 League games for Spurs averaging 78 mins per appearance. In Cups he's played another 56 times so he's played 200 times for Spurs.

Ignoring his 1st season at Spurs and his 2 loan seasons as he only played 4 times for Spurs, most of his Spurs league games have been over 8 seasons. He played 140 games in that time so averaged less than 18 games a season in the league with 78 mins per appearance (so just over 15 full 90 mins games). It's summit like an average of just over 6 Cup games a season for Spurs and 70 mins per appearance.

No way he's going to the Mags as they're too f***ing tight!

Spurs are intriguing me this summer, must be eying up a new full back ? Trippier and Rose I’m guessing were/are on big money, presumably it’s an exercise in getting the wage bill in order. Would be gutted if he went there primarily because he’s one of the few individuals associated with this football club over the last 10 years that I hold high regard for. If it’s true PSG and Juventus want him though then it’s a non starter.
