We are not going up with Ross.....

I'm not overyly bothered at losing a friendly, but the fact that neither of our two strikers are being utilised effectively. Are you expecting everything to suddenly take shape for the Oxford game! They were both here for the second part of last season, but Ross still can't put a team together to play to their strengths. I am not in the Ross out camp, but it concerns me!
Exactly, people seem to think every friendly is about tinkering and just a run out for fitness. I actually see them as a rehearsal for the big day, and so far we need a lot more practice before were ready.

If we don't hit the ground running I would be looking at replacing Ross sooner rather than later.

And if the replacement can’t get us winning every game by a clear two goal margin by Xmas then he ( whoever he is) can get to fuck as well. Now there’s a plan.

I'd be surprised if we finish higher than last season with Ross for the whole season - he won't last. As usual the club is reactive not proactive and Ross will end up going too late. Hope I'm wrong and he turns it around of course.

Has echoes of Bruce's last summer here when he really should have gone at the end of 2010/11, it took 2 games of the following season for him to be under massive pressure and I wouldn't be surprised if Ross ends up in a similar predicament a month or so from now.

I think you are right fella a poor start and ross will be under immense pressureand unless he has learnedf rom last season and He doesnt handle pressure well does He?

Well then he's clearly not good enough either because that team last season should have walked the league. If the next manager can't get a tune out the two 'proven goalscorers' then fingers have to be pointed at recruitment and management.

His press conference a few days before the play-off final pretty much said it all for me, going on about how managers have no influence on games once it kicks off. Plus I find it difficult to believe that he'll have learned from his mistakes this summer when he didn't learn from the at all last season.

Would be delighted to be proven wrong but would be surprised if he hasn't been sacked by the end of October.

I think you are mostly right about last season but playing devils advocate we lost a striker who scored with75% of his efforts on goal and replaced him with strikers who couldnt if their life depended on it ..........

Looking at it the other way Grigg has a superb record at this level and Ross doesn't seem to have a clue how to get the best out of him.

He'll be gone before Lincoln away start of October in my honest opinion, he hasn't changed anything since the end of last season and this new switch to a back 5 with a CM at RWB and the person we signed for RB at CB shows that he really has just lost it. No idea how to set up a team with the players he has available and no idea how to attack at all so we just won't turn draws into wins I'm afraid, without McGeady we are desperate and as we are now operating one out one in I can't see how we can resolve the issues we have in the final third. From Maja leaving at the end of Jan we would have averaged 77 points for a full season based on that pattern continuing - that would see us finish - 5th - exactly the same position meaning we have stood still which is exactly how I see it as Ross is not going to change the way he plays at all so we are going to see ourselves have another frustrating season of drawn games and probably hovering around the play-offs.

"Its only a pre season game"
"its only the first game of the season"
"Its only the 10th game of the season"

I've heard this nonsense for decades now. Lets face it we look poor and the omens for the season so far are not very good.

This

I remember all the posts about “we’ll smash the Championship” after the PL relegation and now it’s the 2nd season in League 1.
