Oviedo but

Donald said multiple times we could afford to keep if he's contributing.

Not bleeding us dry at all. Just means the owners may have to put their hand in the pocket to actually fund us...

The Oviedo wages won't be reinvested, the Cattermole wages haven't been reinvested. Not my issue as a fan if the owner has to actually put his hand in his pocket. As a fan id rather watch a better footballer & seeing how he wont be released I want to stay. Couldn't give a fuck about wages. His wage will be off the book next year anyways and we're okay for this year. Donald already said we're in a good state this year. What's the big rush to get rid? If he had 2 year left I'd say fair enough but in the last 12 month now.
Are you serious ?

It's up to the club to give him a deal attractive enough to leave, yes we would like him moved on but he's doing nothing wrong in my opinion.
And don’t you think the club have tried to ?

Maybe he still wants to play for SAFC? Don't nothing wrong and attitude has been excellent compared to Rodwell / Lescott who took the money and never played.
Ive got nowt against the lad but His defending is poor and he doesn't add much going forward. The club is wasting valuable money on him.

Yeah. He's off the wage bill next year anyways and the owners have said we're in an extremely healthy situation this year. They could easy invest in the squad using their own money if they wish.

As a fan I want to see better players, end of.

Okay, do you think what he is doing is okay ?
Do you not wish he would negotiate a deal to leave ?
If your answers are yes and no you are definitely daft.
If your answers are any different just pack in your attempts at a wind up.
Oviedo is a leech.
The answer to both is yes.
If my answers are yes and no, I'm daft. OK give me the other options to Yes or No, I'm afraid I don't know any more, I must be daft eh!

Yes Oviedo needs to go big time, given he played half the games and is on a massive wedge value for money is very poor, and the nonsense of people quoting the owners its all marketing speak by them, take it as grain of salt...

He will end up leaving on loan while we bring in a left back on a free from Scunthorpe or something to replace him. What a time to be alive

I’m all for this new structure etc but I actually like Oviedo , we will sell him and no replacement will come in, everyone will gan offit, should of kept him etc, all the happy clappers will say Hume is his replacement the saga goes on

How long before his contract is up ?
I’ve just posted elsewhere but he is a major problem. He is bleeding us dry and has only ever been average no matter what league we have been in.
He has already made enough money to live like a King when he departs. He obviously knows the shit we are in and how his wages are holding this club back.
I wish he would show some compassion towards us and do a deal and feck off.
I know he has a contract but hope he has a conscience too. I’ll remember him as a leech not a good footballer.
Feck Him.
Would you move from a very lucrative contract just to save a few quid for your multi-million quid worth employer?

He’s got no loyalty to us, so why should he?

I’ll remember him as a decent footballer, who always gave 100 % and was professional when many round him weren’t.

I do expect him to leave this summer mind.

Aye but Donald and Charlie said on the podcasts we didn't need to sell anyone to be able to compete in the transfer market....
Everyone seems to forget these comments though

We have been told time and time again that there is no issue with our finances.

Why would you leave a well paid job just to save another millionaire some money?
We're on course to make a profit, and that's including paying Oviedo his wages...

Aye, he's clearly holding us back with his massive wage

Signed a contract that was put in front of him and has played to the best of his ability wherever selected. I haven't heard a single person involved with the club question his attitude or effort.

It's not his responsibility to make sure SAFC is well ran off the pitch. Of course if he chose to move on for less money that would be nice but it's completely unreasonable to expect him to.

This attitude about Oviedo (and others) coupled with the "Short is a hero because he wrote off debt he created" nonsense is evidence of a weird parochial Stockholm syndrome where the boss is always good and the worker is always bad.
