Don't think there'd be much benefit in paying Loovens off. Only 12 months of his contract left, so no financial burden carrying forward to next season there. Can't see it being a big one given he signed last year.
Would rather hang on to Baldwin than Ozturk but then I remind myself that these are the players that saw us finish fifth and I shouldn't give a shit who goes.
only clubs to have more clean sheets than us were all promoted.last yer we had one of the very best defensive records in the legaue..
Im sure he said one of, not the bestonly clubs to have more clean sheets than us were all promoted.
might have had a good defensive record however not as good as those who were promoted
You could argue that Ross was overly pragmatic in terms of the number of defensive CMs that were in the side, but given what happened against Coventry when he opened it up a bit and the defence became exposed shows he was probably right. A couple of mobile, more capable defenders means that he can be more creative in terms of the midfield.
Be easier to sort Brexit than shift those 2 manShift Oviedo and Loovens, bring this lad in and then use Flanagan as cover across the back four. Job done.

Free agent now so jobs a good un
Pretty sure that article on Roker Report said the opposite on Cattermole, it does count towards wage so any benefit is in the difference between the wage and the payoff. The benefit is we are close to FFP with regards to wages and not in terms of transfer fees/single payments. A payoff is a one off fee and not counted towards a wage figure. So removing him on let's say 5k a week gives us that 5k a week to play with.

The hope is that he's had time to go away and reflect on it without having a game every 4/5 days. He didn't seem to have a grand plan last season but, to me, a lot of players signed weren't necessarily his choice. He kept talking about wanting players who stretched the game, for example, and what we got was plodding midfield players.Having five goes at getting it right and not doing so doesn't fill me with hope that he knows what he's doing now.

Hasnt played for oxford?Ex Oxford. There's the link.
We need another CB like. Even when our defence weren't directly f***ing up they were inviting pressure by being poor on the ball

Blackpool had a good defensive record for most of last season - Heneghan and Tilt were a solid pairing and better than what we had.He played 42... 49 in all comps. Lad I sit next to at work is a Blackpool fan and raved about this lad, him and the left back Bola are both meant to be very good.
Think this would be a great signing. Him and Willis would be a massive improvement on last year.
