Our owners

They appear to have made a couple of decent signings on paper but let's not get too carried away yet. After all we havent seen any of them play in a competitive game yet. I am encouraged by mcgeady being retained though.

Im all for being positive but you can't judge any signings until they play a competitive game.
You can.

Willis good signing.

Burge awful signing. You had better hope you don't sell your other GK or that he gets injured. Good shot stopper but rarely gets the basics right.

You make a fair point, but that does work both ways. It's far too early to start thinking we're doing great business, but equally there have been plenty criticising when it was blatantly too early to criticise as well. I've said throughout, we need to wait until the window shuts and assess it then, especially when we can see how the lads we bring in actually play. Discussing things and voicing concern is obviously fair enough, it is a discussion forum after all, but over the top triumphalism or negativity is uncalled for
Excellent post mate. 100% spot on IMO

Burge signed to compete with McLaughlin so is Ruiter’s (our previous number 2) replacement going off Jack Ross’ comments. He played against South Shields in the first half and looked alright (although they’re a few divisions below).

Willis sounds exactly what we needed at CB last season - pace. Our CBs are painfully slow (especially Ozturk & Loovens) so he’s a welcome addition.

McLaughlin (the RB, not the keeper) was in team of the season last time he played at this level so that’s a good one on paper.

We still need another winger, dominant CB & dominant CM imo.

Any further updates on your bid for that Wolves player?

Can we wait up the window shuts until we make statements like this:lol:

I can still remember @Bob Stokoes 'Hat There's Something Special Happening At Our Club' and 'Short Has Blown Us Out Of The Water' threads and let's not forget @The Muffin Man telling us all to eat humble pie after the January window.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Yes those threads by the hat should of been moved to the GOLD forum, the comedy value alone was great.

We'll see what happens. We are obviously under pressure financially still and we'll end up paying off Oviedo so not like we're flourishing.

Main issue for me is the manager at the moment anyways, needs a good start to the season.

They're also tied to the success of the manager so that is 90% of whether you're seen to be doing a good job or a bad job.
