Post a pic of your axe

Meh, it's OK, but would of been better with a Hagstrom in there.

I sold my Hagstrom
Anyone else grab a copy of Geddys book ?

Geddy Lee interview: Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book of Bass | Louder

I was at a surreal dinner the other night with a guy who played bass for James Brown at a couple of gigs.

I’m selling a fender that seems to be missing from your collection mr madras

no pics, but a 'maybe' interesting story...

Was talking to my old man at the weekend, used to be in the music biz n'all that

...told him I went to see Metallica...

'Didn't their guitarist buy Peter Green's Les Paul for something daft like £2.5m'

'Dunno mate, probably...'

'Yeh, I'm sure he did.....nice guitar that....when I was supporting Gary Moore years back he had it backstage and we shared a changing room so we got talking and I asked if that was the 'Greeny' and if I could try it out...he said yeh, it's just a bit of wood with some strings.....so I had a play on it for about 10-20 minutes before he needed it, quite nice to play'

I'm 46 and he's never told me this story....

I’ve just picked up a Gibson Les Paul Studio 60s tribute in the satin cherry finish.

Best guitar I have ever owned. It absolutely sings.

Came to the realisation I just cannot play Fenders

I can't get away with the bridge and control knobs on Strats like as I like to rest my hand on the Gibson style bridge, and I'd always knock the knobs on a Strat.

Just bought myself a Harley Benton Tele type guitar as it's hard finding lefty's...

Hopefully it's as playable as the reviews say. Will change the tuners and the nut to tusq and decent strings.

With Harley Bentons, always change tuners && oil the fretboard... occasionally nut and bridge, but the tuners are usually mega$hit.

Guitars themselves are usually pretty decent - some need the usual additional cheap guitar work (fret level, polish, etc)

I've got a CST-24HB (Prs a like), HB-35+ (The es-335 a like), SC-450 (les Paul), DC-580 (SG), ST-62 (Strat)... && a TE-20 maple neck due when its back in. Of those, tuners were $hit on the 450, HB-35 and DC-580. SC & DC needed a fret level but were B-stock, since I've whacked in Irongear pups the DC-580 is one of my go-to's.

Next on the list is the TE-90, and SC-450 gold top - for filtertrons and P90s. IN reality, I'll need to clear the number of guitars before those head my way, and with the pound going mega crap, the question is when to buy.

Reminds me, anyone got a rough idea on value of a 90's Korean first re-issue Danelectro DC-59 ? some dings and a chip out of the pickguard, but its all original (even got the cardboard box) with the wooden insert bridge

I'm really funny with strats, I've a Fender Performer which is great, and the Harley Benton ST-62 which I just cannot get away with - its not the fatter neck or the extra weight from the basswood, just something about it just doesn't /feel/ right. I've also a Peavey Raptor Custom, which I bought like 20 years ago,is bashed to hell but is another one of the go-to's still, despite the Fender american.

My Harley Benton SC custom vintage black is an absolutely awesome guitar straight out of the box as they come with Grover tuners alnico splitting humbuckers. Only thing I changed was the nut and it's class.. how can they do a set neck mahogany guitar with quality parts even down to the strap locks for £170 deliver to my house!
