Bali Mumba

He's needs to go out on loan and get some experience, theres lads who are in front of him who need game time here..

Way too young to be sent out on loan. When has a 17 year old ever gone out on loan and developed in to a good player?

Needs to be nurtured within the club for a couple of years. Few cup appearances here and there and maybe go out on loan in a year or 2 depending on his physical development and maturity.

On another note how many of the people on here saying Kimpioka, Mumba, Embleton, Hume and Robson should all play more also think we need 5 or 6 signings. You can’t do both!

Harry Kane was loaned out at 16, plus loads of others get loaned out to the lower leagues..

Frank Lampard was 17 when he went on loan to Swansea.

Football has changed alot since 1995. You've had to go back 25 years. And if Mumba was anywhere near to be as talented as Lampard, he would be starting for us.

Anybody more recent?

He was 17 but fair enough.

Fair enough but i reckon if i made a list of world class players who didn't go out on loan untill 18+ it would be a lot longer.
So you’ve gone from saying no good players ever go out on loan at 17 to more World class players don’t go out on loan than those who do.

He was 16

He was 17, feel free to prove me wrong with some facts

Well i didn't say 'no players' do it. I'm trying to make the point that it isn't really a proven method for success. Fair enough there are exceptions to that and you've named some. But they are 'exceptions'. My point remains that it isn't a guarantee for success. The original post I quoted said he 'needs' to go out on loan as if that is the only possible solution.

Do you have a reasoned argument for wheather he should go out on loan or are you just trying to trip up what other people are saying?

Regarding the original post, it was my opinion that he needs to go out on loan to get some game time, I was responding to another poster who asked why he hadn't been picked to play. Would going out on loan help him mature into a better footballer, yes I think it would. And that's why clubs all over the country do it. And like the op said you jumped in and stated something that's now been disproved..

My point still remains, going out on loan that young is an exception to how most 16/17 year old are treated. Why do you think Mumba needs to be treated as an exception to the majority of 17 year olds?

Just as an example, Liverpool are buying Harvey Elliott from Fulham and Barca have just bought the young lad from WBA. They are probably bigger prospects than Mumba. Do you think everyone at those clubs is saying 'they need to go out on loan'
