if an orange is called an orange. and a lemon is called a lemon.

why is a banana not called a yellow.
In the case of orange, the fruit got its name from the colour. In the case of lemon, the particular yellow nuance got its name because of the resemblance with the fruit
 
Lots of fluidity in foodstuffs, from scientific point of view it is, from a culinary point of view it's a fruit.

Tomatoes, scientific a fruit, culinary a vegetable (same with peppers and cucumbers). Rhubarb, scientifically a vegetable, culinary a fruit. All bit confusing.
Also, strawberries aren’t really berries since the seeds are on the outside.
