That’s on trip advisor as a local beauty spot.
Where is the replacement? Has the population of Wolsi reduced to the point it’s no longer needed or is a new school going to be built?
The grammar site was the bottom, the top site was built in the 1950s, and I think was a comprehensive for its entire existence.
I could be a meringue mind.

Was up there a few month back with me father. Made him a bit sad seeing it dropping to bits.
Last I saw they’d expanded the bottom site significantly. I heard they’d closed the sixth form though due to low numbers.
Originally was yes. Been a Secondary Modern and Comp since the early 70's.
Makes sense consolidating into one facility.

I played football against Wolsingham Comp. I remember scratters behind the goal throwing stones at our goalie.
The top site was in poor nick like. Full of asbestos, prefabs from the 60s still there 50 years later.
I was in one of those prefabs for last two years at school. Loved them. Our own personal hut.
Honestly thought you went to Beamish school for boys.

Got caught hockelling off the landing on the top floor on me first day there (not onto anyone). Had to clean them stairs with a mop for 2 f***ing weeks.
