I don't believe that, I think it was a number of factors, Ashley wouldn't even sanction the move for Rondon, who was a star player for us and would cost peanuts in today's market.

Would you stay at your job if you had other offers or didn't need the money..
Ofcourse he wouldn't be at Newcastle had the wages not been good, thats a given. but it was not the only factor.
