Truth About Global Warming

I'm no scientist but what I don't understand is that how come during the 70s and 80s when everyone had a coal fire and everyone had cars that were worse for emmisons than we have now, why was the temperature not higher then?

Those times were much worse for the environment than now but the planet was cooler then.

Typical scientists! Always letting fashion and their political leanings dictate their findings.

They have to because if they didn't they would lose their jobs. Look at university lecturers who have spoken out against climate change calling it bollocks. They've all either been sacked or hounded out.

It's very telling he references the 2016 election on a channel that supports trump........and trumps view on climate change is...........

Wonder if he was getting paid for his appearance?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a denier - but I do question whether or not what we are being told is true. There’s no doubt humans have changed the climate, but to what extent is debatable IMO.

That video provides decent balance and information about how the reports are collated.

And when I say ‘climate change industry’ I question who is making money from all this ‘change’.
It id not debatable. 99% of the science says the same thing.

I think the reason governments are peddling global warming is because it's fashionable at the moment. All of the left wing scientists and mainstream news are into it because it's the thing of the moment. It's like the hole in the O Zone layer years ago or the millennium bug. I seriously think it's just all to do with what's fashionable to complain about at a certain time.
The ozone layer would have been a disaster but people worked together to fix it and it was relatively straightforward. The millennium bug was well meaning but a scare story. Climate change is real and has happened and is happening and will happen.

The affects of that era are being felt now. It takes time to impact. That is why no matter what happens we are in for huge changes to temperatures and everything that is associated with that.

Can anybody explain how the ice age began and ended with no air travel or people using their cars to take the kids to school?
No scientist has ever denied the existence of natural warming and cooking periods throughout the history of the planet.

The difference here is not the temperature but the very short timescale and it just so happens that there is an extremely strong correlation with output of CO2 and other gases by human industry.

Anybody who either doesn’t or refuses to understand that is either thick, lazy, a wind-up merchant or has some money-based other agenda..... or a combination of more than one of those.

What's your opinion on these?

Tampering with data.

I thought it was interesting when he said scientists used data from 1980 to 2009 to write a report in 2014. That's because from 2009 onwards didn't go with the narrative because it steadied back down to usual levels.

Believe I’m right in saying that’s China and India are bigger investors in renewable energy than we are.

Last year China spent more on renewables and technology than the rest of the developed world. We have to separate everything in the bins now to allow recycling and the legal limits on all emissions are much lower than the US and UK (our UK plant has SO2 emission limits of around 5x the china limits). China needs to do a lot more but it is trying

Are you playing devil's advocate or are you genuinely a climate change denier?

On antarctic sea ice from the link you posted

Editor’s note: Antarctica and the Arctic are two very different environments: the former is a continent surrounded by ocean, the latter is ocean enclosed by land. As a result, sea ice behaves very differently in the two regions. While the Antarctic sea ice yearly wintertime maximum extent hit record highs from 2012 to 2014 before returning to average levels in 2015, both the Arctic wintertime maximum and its summer minimum extent have been in a sharp decline for the past decades. Studies show that globally, the decreases in Arctic sea ice far exceed the increases in Antarctic sea ice.

I'm a climate change denier now. When you think about it no political leader or academic will ever deny it. That's because what worthier cause is their to improve your image with voters than saying you want to save the world.

The only reason they do it is because it makes them feel better about themselves when they're screwing everyone else into the ground.

Cow farts and man made emissions are being blamed for global warming.

But how were the Arctic areas once lush with vegetation?
Then why did the ice age occur?

First plants caused ice ages, new research reveals

Should we start to burn some plants?

Summary:
New research reveals how the arrival of the first plants 470 million years ago triggered a series of ice ages. The research reveals the effects that the first land plants had on the climate during the Ordovician Period, which ended 444 million years ago. During this period the climate gradually cooled, leading to a series of 'ice ages.' This global cooling was caused by a dramatic reduction in atmospheric carbon, which this research now suggests was triggered by the arrival of plants.

There is only 2 ways that global warming can be slowed or reversed;-

The governments of the world band together and agree on draconian limits to what we produce and consume and the way that we do it. This would be impossible to achieve

Or an event occurring which massively reduces world population. As option 1 is impossible then this is going to happen, the only thing we don’t know is when.

The only reason people deny climate change is because they're low-earners who've had a poor education and subsequently end up in a low position in society. This makes them feel hard done by, and so they desperately seek something to lash out at. They leap onto conspiracy theories that paint authority figures as some kind of lying elite - denying climate change, flat earth, anti-vaccination - the lot.

I'm a bit puzzled by the cow farts thing.
How did the atmosphere cope when there used to be 60 million buffalo's marauding over the prairies in the 19th century?

I don't think anyone denies that the climate changes, history proves that it does, it's whether humans are responsible for that change, or is it being used as a tactic to ramp up profits from power and oil company's etc, use less pay more?
I know what I believe...;)

Different type of pumps I reckon.

I can't think of a better way of funnelling profits to oil and gas companies than by telling everyone that we need to move to renewable sources of energy that don't involve oil and gas!

I hope you believe that it's significantly attributable to human behaviour.
